    Oliva serie v melanio robusto

I'm new to all of this so I'm working my way through and discovering what I like and don't... Just like they said with seasoning my humidor...patience.

    Oliva serie v melanio robusto

Good suggestion. Thanks to you for posting this...maybe I'll forego the scotch and bourbon next time. I'll have to pick one up and put it in the humidor for later. In the meantime, the above are next...

    Oliva serie v melanio robusto

The voice of wisdom from MadMonk... I was considering the altered palate...I only had coffee that morning and was sipping bourbon and scotch while smoking it. I'm thinking I'll give it another try for sure.

    Oliva serie v melanio robusto

How would one tell if a stick is too wet? Cigar is too soft?

    Oliva serie v melanio robusto

Me, too. I was excited to try it. I've been able to discern various flavors before but this one was flat, unfortunately. Is there such thing as a skunked cigar, so to speak?

    Humidor seasoning

I bought a small glass top humidor and used two or three Boveda seasoning packs along with a small bowl of distilled. Waited 30 days while posting here on CP about it. All sorts of great wisdom here and the biggest best piece of advice was be patient. I was and have had no issues since and the...

    Oliva serie v melanio robusto

Discovered a new lounge yesterday and explored their extensive collection of smokes. Settled on the Oliva Serie V Melanio robusto, a 2014 cigar of the year. Now, I'm fairly new to cigars and this was suppose to be a full bodied cigar. I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed as I couldn't...

    Avo Uvezian Synchro Robusto

I'm in heaven! The second Avo I've had...Robusto this go around...as good as the first which was a Toro. Easy smoke, nuttiness (pecan or hazelnut). Easily becoming a favorite. Bought another Toro to enjoy later and also purchased a 1502 Ruby to try. If ever in Maumee, Ohio stop by the Cigar...

    Currently in hand...

Avo Uvezian Syncro Nicaragua... Had the opportunity to slip away from the office early today and head to one of Chicago's newer cigar lounges, the Clayton. If you live here or are just visiting, give this place a try! Being a newbie, the staff was patient and walked me through their selections...

    Resealing my humidor

What MadMonk said...I joined recently and was having humi issues and he helped immensely! Tip of the hat to you, sir. My small glass top was stuck at just around 60% and it was just a matter of seasoning it for literally almost a month. Between Boveda packs and a small bowl of water, it sits...

    New humidor question...

I decided to add a bowl of water today as a test. In the meantime, decisions, decisions...

    New humidor question...

Alright, first, happy holidays, everyone! Thank to everyone so for all the great advice...much appreciated. My small collection has finally made its way into proper storage and into the humidor that I waited so patiently for as it seasoned itself. The RH was hovering around 68% to 70% using a...

    New humidor question...

The day is here! Since 11/15 I've been seasoning the humidor. It got "stuck" at 60% and on 11/29 I added a bowl of distilled water and since then it's hovered between 67% and 70%. I think I'm ready to pull the water bowl out, add some Boveda packs and my sticks. Am I missing anything?

Where did everyone get there humidor from?

Agreed...wow. Speechless in that I cannot imagine for the life of me ever having that many sticks to choose from but I can see the potential being there.

    New humidor question...

MichaelD, My new sticks have been doing just that since mid November. My older ones are rehydrating with a 72 Boveda. I was rereading some things on Boveda's website and realized I should have put two packs in the humidor to season and not just one. This makes sense now as to why the first...

    New humidor question...

    No sticks yet, correct ?

    New humidor question...

Next steps? The humidor hit 75F / 72% today. I figured I'd let it sit for a while still and see if the RH goes up or stabilizes. Should I have any expectations? The Boveda 84 packet has been in there since November 15 and never took the RH above 60% or so. I put the distilled water in a dish...

    New humidor question...

When I first got the hygrometer, I put it in a ziploc with a Boveda 72...spot on. It's a Caliber IV digital. The Boveda 84 drying up already makes me wonder if it's an old packet possibly. I bought it at a reputable shop but am wondering if the Boveda stock is slow to rotate? The 69s and 72s I...
