LOL, about the douche smoking the cigar. Obviously nothing I will use to promote the brand.
FYI, correction, Jaime Garcia's factory makes me some great cigars. Pepin's factory only makes my Miami made Brown Labels.
I'm not sure what you mean by ending up in Ohio under a different name. I give NHC a lot of product and over runs but never gave him anything from a limited run with a different name on it. I would love to hear an example.
The ring was something that Kendall the owner was leaning towards...
Yeah I can understand the ball busting. Maybe I'll just do what Cuba does and package the same cigar 18 different ways with 18 different brands and 18 different price points. People really think that a Monte 2 is different than a H Upmann 2, Diplo 2 or a Rabaina Unico. Please! Creating new...
2000 cigars. One time production made for the event. This cigar will not be made again. No bands. Didn't have time to make one. If you notice, the size is a size I don't make already and the blend is similar to the Verocu east but with a wrapper that we had very little of from last years crop...
Thanks souldog. I'm just trying to keep it honest, open and real. It's hard to get a grasp of what's going on without seeing the cigars in person. I'm actually smoking one that Kingantz sent me down in Nicaragua now.
We seemed to have corrected the extra loose draw bunching. I believe it was in a small batch at the end of last year and some at the first of the year. Since noticing some from the El Triunfadors first batch, I believe we corrected it.
I agree but you would really have to visit the factory to understand how that could happen. We have opened 15 of the cigars from the same box so far and have found breakage from bunching but no signs of a roller using short filler.
Okay guys. Quick update. I'm down in Nicaragua watching the bunching process closely and it seems from what I'm seeing, the filler that is breaking is happening during the bunching. Jaime explained that the filler in the factory goes into the cigar always at a certain humidity that is different...
Yeah it's hard to explain. That's the only way I know how to describe it. Something happens during the fermentation process that will make the leaf brittle.
Okay, I got the cigars back today and opened a few. The draw seemed pretty normal on all. One of the cigars that I opened had some small bits of tobacco in it but was not the signs of when they bunch a mix fill cigar. This was more like when tobacco crystalizes and breaks upon bunching. I will...
CRQuarto,
I agree with a lot of what you say. Every company with hand made products has occasional issues to overcome and I have had more than a few in the last year. I have always been straight with people and even go as far as admitting to potential issues like the Drac. I have every...
Thanks Jay. I can't speak for the 1922 but I will definately touch on the Triunfador. The Triunfador is a very mild blend with using only Volado and Seco leaves which are very thin. Sometimes there are degrees of thickness to these leaves that can change the amount of fill. This is almost...
LFK, I really don't believe there are any QC problems as I smoke between 50 and 100 cigars per week to check for any potential problems. I actually smoked a petit robusto last night after I received Gregs email and found no problems. I also have smoke a few dozen petit robustos in the last two...
