Well - it is time to recap my great day at Oakmont and reward the winner. 1st there were only two of you how had a chance. All the other guesses were over my score :blush: - Here is how the day went - sunny and 88* - At Oakmont you are not permitted to take a cart unless you have a medical excuse, therefore, we all had caddies. In my younger years I caddied at Oakmont, I grew up in the town right next to Oakmont. The caddy I had, probably 7 years older then me, was great. He was great at reading the greens and after a hole or two, he knew how to club me. The only dissappointment was that about 2 weeks ago they plugged the greens, therefore, they were not Oakmont fast, but they were still plenty fast. Well - I had 84 with 6 pars. I also had two birdies. :blush: The best thing about my round is that I had NO 3 putt greens. The highlights were as follows: A great drive (with a 3 wood, my driver and I are not getting along) and another great 3 wood to reach the par 5 - 4th hole in two, and a wedge to the par 4 11th to within 3 inches. Had I not stumbled at the end (6 over in the last 4 holes) I could have had a shot at breaking 80. Oh well - it was a great time. Now to the winner.

The winner of the contest is Humboldtflyer - I will get the sticks out to you tomorrow. Thanks to all how participated. It has been a great 2 years at CP. I have made some great friendships, and I hope to make many more in the years to come.
