Per Allofus's suggestion, a thread just for 24.

This is the first season I watch it and I am absolutely hooked. The show is simply amazing. It has me on the edge of my seat for the entire hour. I've learned rather quickly not to get attached to anyone.

Ricmac, I HIGHLY suggest if you have Tivo, tape the season, run to blockbuster and rent the first 3 seasons. Yeah 72 episodes might seem like a lot, but you think you're hooked now.....your friends will start to think you hate them because you'll be glued to your tv instead of hanging out with them. YES....the show is THAT GOOD!

I agree the kidnapping plots are a bit over the top, and in the first 3 seasons you will ask yourself how stupid can one girl be (his daughter elisha cuthbert), but aside from that idiot, it's 100% non-stop adrenaline.

Read this post 2 or 3 more times, and do as I command
Seriously, you'll be glad you did.

Over the Xmas break I rented all of the Sopranos (4 seasons). Watched them all.

Then, started on 24. I'd only seen one episode on regular TV and because it is sequenced, I was lost. I started from Season 1 and am now at Season 3 episode 7 or 8 (Jack just pulled the trigger on the empty gun and President Palmer lied to the LAPD Chief of Police). I am not obsessive, but have never been so hooked on something. I think the timeline is what makes the show so addictive.

Yes, some of the story is getting tired. Enough kidnapping. And the president's ex-wife is a bitch we'd all like to see go away. But, it is good TV. I'd like to see them do some retrosodes on Jack's Special Ops stuff. And exactly how he got recruited for CTU.

And...........they seem to borrow a lot from Clancy's novels. But, without the detail.

Regardless, great show.

If you hate Sherry, you'll love the end of the season :D

Sopranos....am I the only one who thinks the first two seasons rocked but from the 3rd on it's gone completely down hill?
This last season was horrible. They have a lot of nerve spredding out the seasons with a 2 year break. This show definately doesn't command this type of suspense anymore. Not to mention, in 2006 when it comes back there will only be 6 episodes.
Get over yourselves.

Oh this was about 24 :p
AWESOME!

The first two seasons of Sopranos were incredible. The third was nearly as good. It's all been downhill from there. Still a great show but just a shadow of what it once was.

Oh and 24 is a great show. Though I too am tired of the kidnappings especially when they involve one of Jack's family members or his girlfriend. Enough already!

Isn't it funny how a topic like this was made just now. I just watched seasons 1-3 in one week. I first got the idea that this was a typical American show, and hadn't bothered to watch it at all. Once I got started, well... 72 episodes in 5 or 6 days. I was totally hooked. Simply an amazing show :)

I agree with some things said here. Why does it always involve his family somehow? In season 3 I was starting to get the feeling that everyone had a relationship inside CTU. One of the most horrible parts was the death of Ryan Chapelle. You could just feel the pain Jack felt.

Maybe a bit too much solo action, Rambo style, but otherwise with the silenced pistols and so on, gives a nice feel to it all. I agree that Sopranos is a great show. I watched seasons 1-4 in a very short period of time.

P.S. Didn't you just hate how Nina Myers just kept staying alive?

Although I think we're all in agreement this show is top notch, let's not spoil it for ricmac

Having said that, since you already brought it up....Nina Meyers was a bit*h

You guys messed me up!!! I thought this was a thread for Jeff Gordon (#24). And you guys are talking about some stupid TV program... C'mon Wasch - let's you and I start our own 24 thread....

Sorry there ric. I saw people talking about other specifics of the series, I got the picture you and others had watched further into this series. I'm usually very careful about spoiling it for people.

A nice trick they used on another forum was to write the "spoiler" part in a box with eg. white text and white background, so when "colored" with the mouse pointer, you could read it. Otherwise it was invisible.

I didn't spoil nada :D
I just said his daughter was an ass. Something ricmac would have picked up on the very first episode :p

EDIT

oops maybe I did blow it a bit....sorry Ricmac.....still didn't spoil enough to deter you from this epic :D

This comes on while I'm at work, thus I've missed it.

I'm going to rent it back from the beginning as I hear it's incredible!

Great show.

I got hooked ast season.

SO I ended up renting season 1 and season 2.

HAd a marathon..

SO far this season is good. Lots of suspense. Only thing that i do not like is that they got rid of a lot of ppl I liked. The husband and wife team... and the president.
They better have the hottie daughter on for at least a cameo. She is so fine..

Cant wait for next week.

Elisha C-C-Cuthbert hot?

With that terrible blonde hair cut with dark eye brows, ugly Leno-like chin and dick nose?

Some people's children I tell ya :p

I watched the first season... it was so addictive, the wife and I had to be in front of the tube every week. Since then, I have not watched a single episode.

I'm a Law and Order man. Someone start a Thread on THAT! I'll definatly be posting that show! :D
