Drinkin' the koolaid
I know this is off-topic for the board, but I'm hoping there's some closet techies out there that can help me out. I'm looking for two kind of random things...
First is a box that'll take the VGA/DVI video signal out of the back of a video card and convert it to UDP/IP video traffic over a network. Hopefully the original VGA/DVI signal will still be available to input into the local monitor, but I'm sure there's a basic splitter for that just in case. I'm hoping not have to convert from VGA/DVI to PAL and then to IP traffic because quality on the other end is important for this video.
Second, does anyone know of a VoIP phone that has fiber hookups? The new building I'm moving into has fiber to the desktop for security reasons, so it makes plugging in a phone impossible. For the computers, we've bought PCMCIA converters. I'm hoping to not have to buy a media converter for every phone, either, but haven't seen anything yet.
Thanks for any assistance.
