I tried something similar to this called Stinger Rum while in Belize last summer. They also had another one called Viper Rum that had a snake in it. They both tasted like rum to me. Of course I had already had a pretty full day of drinking rum punch so there is really no telling what it tasted like....

I've had the same idea with Okinawin Habu sake. It has a Habu snake in it and didn't taste anything like sake.

Hi, AVB! Thanks for the correction. I guess I kind of put the cart before the horse (or something like that, duh!) when I mentioned that tequila had the worm, rather than Mezcal. This goes to show how much drinking of liquors that I've been doing lately (nil). Regards, knightlaird

While I was on deployment in Yuma Arizona the E-club had a big jar with a scorpion in it. I got my certificate certifying that I had successfully completed a shot of the "Scorpion Sting". The contents from my understanding besides the Scorpoin where Everclear, 151, and Blue Vermouth (SP).

All I know is after taking that shot I was done for the night and was hugging the trashcan for several minutes after it.

I had to take the shot and once I set the shot glass on the table they would light it and count to 10, if the flame lasted longer than 10 seconds I did not successfully do it right. My flame lasted around 7 seconds...


Horrible idea in my opinion and would never do it again. The O-Club had the same thing but it was called "the Snake Bite" and included a rattler instead.

When I used to do a lot of drinking, Mescal was my drink of choice! It just had a CRAZY BUZZ to it! Although, I never drank it without my usual other party favors. :laugh:

I think that I will bid on that scorpion in the whiskey bottle for my shelf collection!!! :laugh:
