A New Herf...Please Re-Read

For the right event, with the right notice, I'd grab a flight. It sounds like a great concept you have started, let me know if I can help in any way.
 
It is an "Event" tent that will seat up to 2000 people. I can rent it for a day, and they will give me the day before and the day after to set up / tear down. I can get a Saturday right now in August, but I don't know how long it will be available. Normally when an event is scheduled, it becomes tradition and getting an open day is nearly impossible. I'm not sure I can put it together in 3 months, but in my head anyway, it seems it would be a great time for guys / gals like us. We'll see if and how it comes together.
 
Steve where would this be held? Do you have and address?

Even just the town and state works.
 
Great concept - but a monster task to pull off successfully. Start small and let it grow naturally.

If you haven't already....why don't you contact some of the guys that have been involved in planning megaHerfs for years - like stogieman or Matt R. - and talk to them about their experiences before you bite off way more than you can chew!

Fort Wayne, Indiana. As I stated earlier, it's about 3 hours drive from 3 or 4 huge cities. I am in the process now of trying to get permission from the Fire Marshall. ??????
 
15 Hrs isn't too bad of a drive... Hell I'm Driving up to Toronto this September
 
That's 9 hours and probably just under $200 in gas for me. If it was a Saturday I might be able to talk my buddy into teaming it out there after work Friday night and coming back Sunday

This is what I was thinking. I was then looking to see what a flight would cost. If I drive it then I can convince the wife to come and we can make a trip out of it. See some sights on the way there and back.
 
If I can get this together in time, there are a lot of Hotels, Motels in the area. Don't get too excited yet...........I'm waiting for the Fire Marshall to call me back.
 
Any event that has a 500+ paid guests, you need event planning experience. Plus months of planning and perperation.

Just crash at 3Ms house and smoke his cigars it will be cheaper!

The neighbors might flinch at the 25+ Porta-Johns, but it can't be much worse then the annual No Pants Bar-B-Que & Bounce House we have every year. Don't forget - garbage goes out Thursday night.
