A few months ago I had a visit from German Kripo (special investigations division of the German Polizei) letting me know that my name was found on a few boxes they confiscated during a sting operation.

It turns out that a few workers at the Bayreuth post-office warehouse, decided that they would steal boxes marked for overseas and sell whatever they found inside. The officers told me that they would let me know what was going on when the trial started, but also told me that it could be well over a year before I was able to claim the contents of the boxes.

Well the case finally came to court and I received a letter listed the contents of the three boxes, one was a couple of Nutcrackers I had sent to my Sister as presents for my niece and nephew.

One was a box of assorted cigars that disappeared while doing a trade with a fellow CP member (which was handled successfully in PMs) and the last box was a bomb containing a few good sticks and a German cigar ashtray I had promised Brickhouse (Which he never told me he hadn't received, ).

Well I decided on the spot to write Kitzmann Brewery and ask them where I could purchase a Kitzmann cigar ashtray (not as easy is it sounds since the smoking ban) so I could make it up to Wyatt... and I didn't receive an email back. What I did receive was a box and a friendly letter.

Inside the box was a few brand new Kitzmann ashtrays and the letter said to say hello to my friend in the US and that they hope we can come drink a couple free beers at the brewery someday.

So one ashtray I took to Double D's so I have at least one ashtray that he won't put out his cigarettes in (which I find really fucking gross) one goes to my local bar so I have a cigar ashtray to use there (the owner is a smoker and is ignoring the smoking ban  ).

And one goes to Brickhouse, one of the nicest guys here and someone I consider a friend.

Wyatt I know you'll put it to good use, now all we have to do is find a way to take Kitzmann up on their offer of free beer at the Brewery :D

Oh and yeah the leader of the band of thieves got 6 years and his two helpers 3... I hope they have fun with Wolfgang "Bubba" Arschficker, while they are inside. :sign:

Shawn

*edit* And I should have the stuff back around August, lol I cant wait to see how dried out the cigars are.

Wow Shawn, that's a hell of a story.

I owe you an apology on not letting you know I hadn't received the ashtray. It was smack dab in the middle of ETS and moving from Texas to Illinois and I just figured it got lost in the shuffle of addresses. I thought I had sent you a PM stating that it never made it, but I guess I never did. Probably the thought of intending to do so eventually turned into thinking that I actually did.

Nevertheless, I'm super stoked about the ashtray that is going to be heading my way! It looks awesome! I think even my wife may like that one :) , every time we see German things like that it reminds of us of how much we loved living there.

Thanks again Shawn, I truly appreciate it, and apologize for the lack of communication the first time.

No apology necessary brother, I hope you and the family get a chance to visit here again in the near future, going to Erlangen for a few Kitzmann would be a blast!

Awesome story (well, as awesome as a series of events like this can be, I suppose). Glad justice was served and you got the ash trays!

Shawn, that is a great story.
It's good to hear about those folks getting caught.

Also, Kitzmann Brewery really did you right.
Friendly customer service is not dead.

Wow what a surprise, you're having problems with the mail service . Not like that ever happens to you . Looks like this one worked out well at least.
