So I came home last night and there was a package for me. The wife thought I ordered more cigars, but I told her I knew nothing about the package. Come to find out it was the Facebook thing that Alec Bradley was doing a couple weeks ago with sending your addy to their "testing" email address to get the new release cigar.

I did it not thinking I would get anything and would be bombarded with spam emails from AB, but I actually received the new "pre-release" stick from them.

Did anyone else send their addy to AB, and get anything from them?

My counterpart got to it before I did, but I can tell you it sure smelled good from where I was sitting. Then again, I was grilling bacon, so manure would have smelled good to me. I'm told there was a notable but mild oak immediately after toasting that quickly gave way to a slightly sweet creaminess with a backdrop wavering between almonds and pistachios. Apparently there was a tartness that took over about halfway in, but there was a particularly hoppy beer being served alongside at that point, so your mileage may vary.

(It was fairly windy, and I gave up trying to get a decent picture of the smoke, but there was a decent amount, which had I picked up as tangy cedar with a sweet backbone.)

(Wind may have been to blame here as it had a substantial and solid feel, easily picked up and handled without breaking.)
