I went to a cigar store in Orange California today.

I've been hounded by the workers there to join their Cigar Lounge.

It costs $200/year.

Here's what they give you:

- Entrance for 5 people
- a place to smoke your cigars
- shoot pool
- drink liquor and beer from tap
- watch your favorite sports
- wine and cigar events (with freebies)

Has anyone had any good experiences with such members-only lounges?

I wish there was one closer to me. Which one did you go to? Club Havana on Chapman? My mother lives in Orange County so I go down there every so often.

atuck,

the name of the cigar shop is Red Cloud.
It's on Chapman, in Old Town Orange.
There's a Cuban restaurant next door.

Asked for some PAM's...didn't have any ;)

Their lounge is in Fullerton though.
Looks nice from the pictures I saw.

The got one at the Tinder Box in Mesa. $300 a year, 3 visitors allowed, nice leather furniture. Beer & spirits, poker, cigar storage. Nice place but I haven't taken the plunge yet. Only cigar smokers I know in AZ is Ree & Burn :D

I frequent one in Boston named Cigar Masters.

Membership is not needed. Its a nice place with a fully stocked bar and great atmosphere with nice big chairs and tables all around.

The humidor is well stocked but as you can imagine marked up and expensive and if you want to take your own cigar in there is a lighting fee.

Location is good in downtown Boston but the parking can be a Biatch at times and expensive if you cant find a meter. Also, it is rather busy at times due to the smoking ban in Mass and there only being a few places left like this.

None around me. Although if the atmosphere and people were good at the club, I would join one if I could. It's not so much the place that I enjoy, it's the company and bullsh**ng that I enjoy.

Since I have never seen such a place I have a couple questions. When y'all mention beer and liquor, does that mean free drinks with the membership, or just that drinks are served. If they had free drinks (even just a first drink free for members) then the $200 would be well worth it. 20-30 visits in a year and you would easily recoup the cost. If it is just member pricing on drinks, then the drink cost and discount would be a factor. The rest of the stuff seems like a nice deal. It all depends on how much use you think you would get out of the deal.

Here in Ca. Just having a place that allows smoking inside would be a luxury that would be worth it to me. It would be nice to smoke at other places besides my home. And I only like somoking outside on summer evenings.

Smoking outside during summer here is not a good idea... to damned hot and humid to enjoy a cigar, even on most evenings. I kinda wish there was a place here to go a relax indoors with a smoke and a drink. My fav bar/restaurant that allowed cigar smoking closed down a couple months back.

Sounds like a business opportunity...

I belong to a place in Boston, not cigar masters, and it is 400 a year. My buddy and I split the box, with it we get free coffee and deserts (nice for the girlfriend option, some reduced prices on cigars and freebies, in addition they will make room for me and friends when they are full. I have actually seen them bump people for me which is nice and worth it.

There's one near me, and I've thought about it time and time again. Me and Eric took a tour with the owner once. It's nice, but the owner is a gouger to private members, and when he received opus, he won't put it out on the the shelves for the public. Personally, that just pisses me off.

I belong to this one. No alcohol served. The locker is great for storage.

Wow nice place macms. I wish there were such a place to smoke around here but no such luck. There is a cigar shop that opened last year with a "free cigar lounge" but its not much in the way of comfort and Im sure this winter it will get overly crowded.

That'd be reason enough for me to join. As long as they had nice tables, I'd join in an instant. All the pool halls around me don't allow cigars so it really sucks, since I play pool everyday.

Only cigar club/lounge in the area charges upwards of $900 per year. At that price, they need to include cigars AND drinks (but obviously don't). They don't even have any of the full season sports packages to show on their lone big screen tv. Basically... it's pretty weak.

I have toured the Red Cloud, it is pretty nice, with plenty of ventilation, room for smoking, gambling and drinking. I guess another perk is that you can go to there other store in Las Vegas.

Those kind of clubs just aren't for me.

for those in So. Cal...or those that frequent this area a lot...there's a cigar lounge/pool/Salsa Dancing club in Long Beach called Cohiba's.

It's near the downtown area, around Pine Ave.

They have a small walk-in Humidor where you can purchase slightly overpriced cigars.

It's free to get in (at least on the day I went).
The waitresses are hot.
And it's well ventilated.

Yeah, a local one in Milwaukee. Not so much a club as a backroom. A local shop downtown has a backroom to chill in. Magazines, newspapers, coffee, etc... Tho the bonuses are 10% off purchases on set days. Also, no limit on rare smokes. When they get FFOXs in, there's a 2 stick limit, members have none.

None around me, but when visiting my wifes family in Inianapolis I went to a place called Cigar Heaven. The owner tried to sell me on a membership prior to knowing I was an out of towner. If I lived there I would have joined. $200/year included free snacks and drinks(no alcohol), television lounge, poker and chess tables, and a locker to store smokes. It had multiple humidors with one of the largest selections that I have ever seen. Most of the sticks seemed reasonably priced. If anyone is in the Indy area check it out.
