For $75 it seems like a great night out with the Cigar Industry's Leaders plus in support of a great cause.

Pictures of this event would be great if anyone in Florida attends.

In NYC on August 19th, the CRA event is $300 per ticket! Granted, it's at the Hudson Terrace and includes a dinner, which I think only makes the Orlando event look much better, even thought it's without the dinner...same people...same cigars...same cause

....oh, and an open bar too

Don't forget your camera

I bought my ticket last week for the Orlando one. I don't have a digital camera so I'll try to borrow one.

I can't wait it should be great.

I don't particularly enjoy raining on anyone's parade, but something about this organization doesn't seem right. I am emailing them with a list of questions, and I hope for some positive answers.

But some other things are piquing my curiosity...

Corona Cigar Co. claims they are a non-profit organization, and yet they [CRA] are selling memberships.

Contributions, gifts or membership dues made or paid to Cigar Rights of America are not refundable or transferable and are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.
Taken from here.

The value of entrance to the event in NYC is substantially higher than every other city, and can be implied as discriminatory to the cigar smokers who do not make that kind of coin.

They say they will protect our rights as cigar smokers, but I don't see any plan of action on their website.

I see no disclosure on how they plan to use the money from the events and the membership fees.

A lot of things don't add up and I am very skeptical. Am I alone in being skeptical about what is going on here?

I would attribute the cost differential between events directly to their cost of renting the facility at which said events are held. I'm guessing renting a space for a party of this size in NYC is a little more spendy than the same space in Minneapolis. Also, just like at Toast Across America events, some of them will have more or less food and/or drinks available as part of the ticket price. My TAA event that I attend is always $50, but we have a cash bar and the local shop springs for appetizers out of their own pocket. Other are more than that but they include some drinks or even a meal.
