CPers,

Well, I received some VERY GOOD NEWS today from the DA's Office on a case I've been working for over a year. Basic synopsis without providing vital information to protect the parties involved is as follows: 11 year old girl is raped/molested by 60 year old "godfather," 11 year old becomes pregnant by it, I take loving "godfather" to the hoosegow. After months of testimony, the verdit finally came in today at approximately 1430 hours. This son of a bitch was found guilty in a jury trial of 5 seperate counts, which translates him to be sentenced to 92 YEARS in prison.

A very big win for all parties involved, and a personal passion was invested by myself in this case, being one of the bigger cases I've had in my career. I was elated to hear this news, and I had to have a special cigar for a special occasion. This is the part where Swissy came in. He gifted me a "yard-gar' smoke (by his standards due to the fact that he's the man and probably has about a million of these babies lying around!) in a bomb, and I have had it sitting in my humi for a week or so, so I decided to light it up!

Cigar: A. Fuente Añejo Reserva Xtra Viejo Limitada No. #77 "Shark"
Wrapper: Connecticut-broadleaf wrapper
Ring Gauge: 64
Length: 5.875 (per 3M's guide)
Origin: Dominican

Start Time: 2106 hrs

Initial Observations:

Very nice oily wrapper, rolled firm and tight in a unique shape. The tobacco is packed well, pre-light draw is not too tight and not too loose. Below is a picture of my setup with my standard cranberry juice, RP ashtray, Zippo with a butane insert, my Zarka double-blade guillotine cutter, and of course, the Shark:

The butt end of the cigar had a wierd looking "fold" on the bottom, but other than aesthetics, it did not impact the burn:

The First Third:

I lit the cigar and was hit with leathery flavors and a strong hint of spice. The burn began unevenly, which may have been due to a newbie lighting, but overall nothing to complain about. As I continued to draw, the cigar began taking on a more musky taste, with persistent spiciness in the aftertaste:

As I continued to draw, the ash was beautifully constructed, very tight and firm. I was quite happy with it:

The Second Third:

The ash broke well, and there wasn't that big of a "spike" on the end. The cigar took on a wood flavoring, and had a uniquely sweeter aftertaste. Although the aftertaste was sweet, there were still undertones or spice left on my palate from the first. During this second third, the cigar began to truly shine as the flavor took on a more bold turn while still maintaining a mellower taste. At this point, I began feeling a little "buzzed," which was nice as I haven't had a cigar do that to me in a while. The burn continued to "run" in up to four different places that I had to continue to fix, but it was still a good experience:

The Third Third:

At about 39 minutes into the smoke, my smoking buddy showed up. Here is Misty in all her puppy glory:

Then it was like all of a sudden, someone turned on the fog machine because this stick began producing HUGE amounts of smoke, so much I almost called Swiss to come put the fire out!! :sign: The spicy flavors debuted a second time in full force and I met it in kind:

The ash continued to hold firm and beautiful, in all of it's white glory. At about 56 minutes into the smoke, I had to remove the band becuase I was going for the nub! I normally slip it off because I collect the bands, but this shark wasn't about to let go. Unfortunately, it began puling up on the wrapper, so I had to break the band to get it off. :( Oh well...

I nubbed it until it got too hot for me to hold it, and I had to let this baby die out in all of it's glory:

This was an amazing smoke that I was reluctant to put down. I can only hope I can smoke one of these babies another time! The aftermath:

Anyways, thanks folks for reading, thanks Swissy for the amazing smoke, and good riddance to that motherf*cker...hope he rots in prison never to rape the innocence from another child again.

Congrats all the way around Jonathan, Swissy is a great guy. Nice review and I myself have a few Sharks that I am holding onto.

Excellent review and pics Jonathan. One of my favorite smokes.

and...f$%# that mother f%(@## ... good riddance to bad garbage.

Brian

Congrats all the way around; a great review and one of the really bad guys goes down for a long time. Kudos. I have much respect for the LEO folks out there.....

Child rapists don't do well in prison. I sincerely hope the general population makes the rest of that miserable SOB's life a daily, unspeakable hell.

Best Regards - B.B.S.

Ditto on the rot in hell part. Congrats on the case and the smoke. I served on a jury last year in a child porn case. It was terrible. It really got to me afterwards, but we found him guilty on all counts. Looks like he will have company in Hell.

Thank you for your service,

Johnny

I love to hear those words...Shark Buzz, almost as much as I liked hearing the words 92 year sentence. What a POS he was. He should be ashamed he was ever called Godfather.

THANKS for a job well done and a great review

Great review & congrats on your case. I'll reiterate was BBS said, rapists & child molesters are considered the worst of the worst in prison, I'm sure he'll get what's coming to him.

Nice job on the review and on the verdict / sentencing!
I was given a shark in a newbie trade by preembargo and I have it carefully saved in a treasured section of one humidor I reserve for the very best. I think of it often and, after your review, will have to consider lighting it up on some special occasion before too long.
As bad as it will be for the SOB in prison I only wish he had to endure it without certain strategic anatomical protuberances still attached to his person.
Thanks for your work!

Did somebody say SHARK!!!! :p

Nice review there Johnathan. The Sharks are my personal favorites. The semi-sweet profile you talk of usually taste slightly like Anise/Red Wine to me. I've most likely smoked over two dozen of them, and that is the first I have ever seen burn uneven like that.

Nice play Jim!

Oh! I hope the Godfather spends plenty of time getting his ass raped in jail. Congrats on your persistence, and I hope that girl does not grow up with emotional baggage from all of it.

Great job on the case!

Excellent review. Thanks for sharing the experience with us.

Great review! Those sex cases are some of the strangest cases out there. Great work!

Excellent review w/pics! Congrats on the case as well and as all have said, good riddance! Such a shame tragedies like that happen all too often. I know if something were to happen to mine....it'd be a road straight to hell for him and me as I'd not hesitate to, well let's just use the evil part of our imagination on that one.

nice review makes me want to get mine and smoke it. but im waiting for a special occasion.

and i hope he gets in prison what he delt out in the world

Good review. I have a few of these in my humi that I'm trying to let sit, but it sure is tempting to pull one out now.

Also, congrats on your case. My Dad used to be a Prosecutor, so I got to see how firsthand how stressful that job can be, especially when you have to deal with sickos like that. From what my Dad tells me, people who commit those kinds of offenses usually get what's coming to them in prison. Keep up the good work.

Well said by many, Congrats on putting the Bad guy away, the media only focuses in on the ones that get away, let's hope Bubba is his Cellmate in the pokey!.......... :whistling:
I have aa Anejo #55 that has been calling my name from my humi, I am waiting for THAT occasion too. Congratulations brother, Awesome review of the cigar too, Now I Really want to smoke that Anejo or the Fuente Fuente Opus X !!!

Special occasion ??? When are you guys going to get that when you light up the stick, that IS the special occasion.

Make today that day :D

Brian

I love those Sharks !! Congrats on putting a sick puppy in a pound where he will get some idea of how that little girl must have felt.

Great job brother!

I knew you were a great guy when we met the other day.
Looks like karma got the Godfather.
And Karma was bestowed on you too!

congrats on the case. he will get whats coming to him........sooner them later we all hope.

Nice review, all this talk about the "sharks' is get my curiousity up.

looking forward to my first......haven't used that line in a long time.

Congrats and thank you again for the review and your case.
