CPers,
Well, I received some VERY GOOD NEWS today from the DA's Office on a case I've been working for over a year. Basic synopsis without providing vital information to protect the parties involved is as follows: 11 year old girl is raped/molested by 60 year old "godfather," 11 year old becomes pregnant by it, I take loving "godfather" to the hoosegow. After months of testimony, the verdit finally came in today at approximately 1430 hours. This son of a bitch was found guilty in a jury trial of 5 seperate counts, which translates him to be sentenced to 92 YEARS in prison.
A very big win for all parties involved, and a personal passion was invested by myself in this case, being one of the bigger cases I've had in my career. I was elated to hear this news, and I had to have a special cigar for a special occasion. This is the part where Swissy came in. He gifted me a "yard-gar' smoke (by his standards due to the fact that he's the man and probably has about a million of these babies lying around!) in a bomb, and I have had it sitting in my humi for a week or so, so I decided to light it up!
Cigar: A. Fuente Añejo Reserva Xtra Viejo Limitada No. #77 "Shark"
Wrapper: Connecticut-broadleaf wrapper
Ring Gauge: 64
Length: 5.875 (per 3M's guide)
Origin: Dominican
Start Time: 2106 hrs
Initial Observations:
Very nice oily wrapper, rolled firm and tight in a unique shape. The tobacco is packed well, pre-light draw is not too tight and not too loose. Below is a picture of my setup with my standard cranberry juice, RP ashtray, Zippo with a butane insert, my Zarka double-blade guillotine cutter, and of course, the Shark:
The butt end of the cigar had a wierd looking "fold" on the bottom, but other than aesthetics, it did not impact the burn:

The First Third:
I lit the cigar and was hit with leathery flavors and a strong hint of spice. The burn began unevenly, which may have been due to a newbie lighting, but overall nothing to complain about. As I continued to draw, the cigar began taking on a more musky taste, with persistent spiciness in the aftertaste:
As I continued to draw, the ash was beautifully constructed, very tight and firm. I was quite happy with it:
The Second Third:
The ash broke well, and there wasn't that big of a "spike" on the end. The cigar took on a wood flavoring, and had a uniquely sweeter aftertaste. Although the aftertaste was sweet, there were still undertones or spice left on my palate from the first. During this second third, the cigar began to truly shine as the flavor took on a more bold turn while still maintaining a mellower taste. At this point, I began feeling a little "buzzed," which was nice as I haven't had a cigar do that to me in a while. The burn continued to "run" in up to four different places that I had to continue to fix, but it was still a good experience:
The Third Third:
At about 39 minutes into the smoke, my smoking buddy showed up. Here is Misty in all her puppy glory:
Then it was like all of a sudden, someone turned on the fog machine because this stick began producing HUGE amounts of smoke, so much I almost called Swiss to come put the fire out!! :sign: The spicy flavors debuted a second time in full force and I met it in kind:
The ash continued to hold firm and beautiful, in all of it's white glory. At about 56 minutes into the smoke, I had to remove the band becuase I was going for the nub! I normally slip it off because I collect the bands, but this shark wasn't about to let go. Unfortunately, it began puling up on the wrapper, so I had to break the band to get it off. Oh well...
I nubbed it until it got too hot for me to hold it, and I had to let this baby die out in all of it's glory:
This was an amazing smoke that I was reluctant to put down. I can only hope I can smoke one of these babies another time! The aftermath:
Anyways, thanks folks for reading, thanks Swissy for the amazing smoke, and good riddance to that motherf*cker...hope he rots in prison never to rape the innocence from another child again.
