As a noob, found my favorite cigar! Ah, a blessing.

As a new smoker, I have basically been taking down everything I get my hands on, trying to find the perfect cigar for my current tastes. Alas, I have found it. This morning I was cleaning up the kitchen while the ol' lady was at church and decided to take out one of the Asthon's I received the other day...oh man, what a wonderful smoke. Personally, I think its perfect. As a noob, I'll admit, I do like the flavored 'cigars', such as the Acid Atom and the cheap things my woman smokes. The Ashton was SO much better than anything I have had thus far, including anything scented, infused, flavored, or any other added gimmick. Pleasant aroma (sweet to my nostrils), awesome taste, again, sweet to my palate. It burned consistent down to the nub, getting even tastier right before I thought I might have to find a roach clip or something, ha. I'm not really one to judge the fullness of a cigar, but I would rate it as a mild to mild/medium blend. It did allow me to inhale a small puff, which I actually enjoy every 5 or 6 draws or so. I am going to finish up the rest of the sampler I put together before I pull the trigger, but I think my first box of cigars is in order here.

Just thought I'd share if any of you other noobs are looking for a great quality, top notch beginner cigar.

I actually used to enjoy the Ashton Classics! I think I have a Prime Minister and couple of Magnums left in one of the humis. Good medium body with sweet, nutty flavors. Of course, I haven't had one in a while and my palate has changed a LOT. I wonder how they would be now....hmmm....

I am glad you like the Ashton, but the statement in the bold worries me. I never intentionally inhale a cigar. I get enough of the smoke from regular breathing, from the smoke once I blow the smoke out of my mouth. I would caution you doing that on a regular basic, if ever.

But Its good to see you are stepping outside the box and staying away from the Acid.

It's good to hear that you are starting to find some sticks that you enjoy. Like Sweetrice said, inhaling is something you MAY not want to do.

Let me also say, you'll end up changing "my favorite" to "a favorite." Being rather noobish myself, I have declared several favorites in my short time smoking. I'm sure you'll declare many more.

Pardon my ignorance, but is there something particular more dangerous than it, say vs. a cig? When I say 'small', I mean that in every sense of the word. Much smaller than one would draw on a cig. I understand that in the cigar world, its regarded as a taboo, but I do enjoy it.

Let us know, I'd be interested in hearing how they have changed for you.

Ashton classic corona was my favorite smoke as a noob and its still a very solid high quality smoke. I like fuller bodied cigars but I still occasionally get the desire for a top notch connecticut shade wrapped dominican. There is nothing quite as creamy/nutty out there as this combo IMO.

If you like that you absolutely must try griffins classic as well. They are very good also.

I would second his advice. You're still going to take in more nicotine through the lungs than you ever would through the mouth. So, your body will get used to that. What starts out as here and there... Whatever though, do what you like.
