May not be Opus or anything that good, but its porn to me!!!

Got a shipment of 20 year ESGs and VSG Spellbounds. I don't usually like 'em this big, but can't pass this one up. The g/f is going to be mad that I'm late for dinner sucking down one of these ESGs.

Yay, got the pics to work...I think...

Two of those Spellbounds look kind of disfigured. I'll dispose of them properly for you. Addy in profile :whistling:

Very nice. Enjoy them. One day I will pull the trigger and purchase a box of my own cigars....one day.

Edit...Had my first VSG earlier tonight and it was yummy! At $15/stick (Robusto), it's a little on the high side but I will buy again.

Yea, I wasn't very impressed with them myself

If the one on the farthest left is #1, which do you consider the most disfigured? :D

Very nice! I like the VSG line much more than the Opus or anything else for that matter.

Enjoy,

Ken

Very nice. Love the VSG's. Never had an ESG.

I may catch some heat for this statement, but I actually prefer VSG's over (most) Opus!

Some excellent p0rn, indeed!

Those look great, Yes I am one of those that put the ESG and VSG on the same pedestal as the Opus, they are all great smokes. Nice haul and if the girlfriend gets mad have her smoke one with you, you'll be surprised.

Wow. Just wow. Nice haul!

If you wouldn't mind terribly . . . could you PM me on where one can buy an entire BOX of Spellbounds? I'm about to start my walk-in project and, well---that's what I want to celebrate with when I get it done!

Are you guys kidding me? I started on Ashtons, and a VSG was one of my first 5 cigars, and I've been in love since. I always feel like turning to them (I prefer Belicosos, but thats just a size thing....) is a cop-out to looking for a better cigar. Opuses (Opui??) are spoken of on this board like they are the cigar of Christ, and I've never had one. To hear that makes quite an impression on me. If anyone likes the VSG over the opus and cares to trade, hit me up (sorry if that statement breaks rules, but I had to say it  )

I've been trying to get the g/f to smoke with me, and she won't do it. After making her puke all over the car on the way to AC while smoking, she's not to happy with me and my cigars.

PM sent Boar.

I don't want to say I was disappointed, because I wasn't. But it was much mellower than I had expected. VSGs kind of kick you in the face, whereas the ESG sits back and is like a steady dose of flavor and pepper. I'm not a reviewer, nor do I have a developed palate (cocoa, wood, earth, tea, whatever, I can't tell the damn difference), but this ESG was a very enjoyable smoke all the way through. I couldn't resist, and they only had a short journey, but I opend one right up. I smoked about 3/4s of it last night, and it was great and very consistent. I clipped it and finished it on the way to work this morning, and it was still about 90%. Great smoke, and given the size, well balanced. I've never had a VSG that size, so its an unfair comparison, but I guess we'll find out when I light a Spellbound.

I've had the spellbound and the tres mystique and I much preferred the tres mystique. The smaller size just seemed to have much more flavor whereas the larger vitola took a little bit to really get into that VSG flavor. I've got an ESG in the humi that I'm waiting to light up but from what I've heard/read I'll probably enjoy it very much. The main thing I have to consider is that the tres mystique was stored in a properly regulated RH but the spellbound I smoked at the B&M where the RH was in the low 80s.

Must be the types of cigars I've been buying lately, but to see a full box of cello'd cigars looks weird. Nice pickup on the VSGs, though. ESG... meh.... didn't impress me.

I agree. It was very weird to open that box and see them cello'd. I wasn't expecting that, but, after smoking one, my newb opinion would be that its to protect the mellow flavors in a humi with stronger stuff. I forsee a fistfight between my 08 Monte EL Sublimes and those ESGs

Very nice haul. I'm a HUGE VSG whore, and love Spellbounds when I've got the 2 hours to kill. I'm one that if you put a VSG and an Opus on the table, the only thing that make the decision for me would be what mood I'm in. But...there are many Opus I've yet to try still.
Personally, I'd rather take the extra cost of the ESG's and put it toward more VSG's...but that's me
