I can imagine what Las Vegas must be like today. Elvi (yes, that's plural) of all colors and sizes walking around...

BUT try to imagine what Las Vegas would be like if it had not been for Elvis.

my wife is absolutely nuts about elvis!

so nuts that she started following this singer named ronnie mcdowell years ago.
he used to do an elvis tribute show and then he did all the singing in that elvis movie that kurt russell starred in.
she followed him so much they've actually become friends and she is now president of his fan club. ???
ronnie doesn't do too much any more so now she follows this new guy named david king who started out doing elvis in the jumpsuit thing but has settled into the younger elvis look.
the guy is really good evn the other oldies he sings he sounds like elvis.

i've never really been a huge fan. he has some good music and put on a good show but he was after all just a guy/ entetainer that drugs killed whether by his fault or the fault of the people around him.

hope i didn't ruffle any elvis fan's feathers.

Never was a fan. Didn't much care when he passed on. Yes, it was sad but I didn't know him personally and wasn't affected by it. Now it has been 25 years and there are still some yahoos out there saying they've seen him. That he is still alive. Give me a break.

Never Really a fan...I like some of his music. His life though was so tragic..I remember as a litle girl sitting and watching the news report of his funeral.25 years later the inmage is still with me.


BTW-Sinatra put Vegas on the map long before Elvis came to that town!

The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly etc...

And how about all the blues that was out there that influenced all the good ones in rock.

Sinatra only helped get it started with the Mob's money.. Elvis made it what it is today!
