Back in H.S I started to play Axis and Allies (Milton Bradley) board game.
It is a real time WW II stratgegy Game I used to play it for hours on end with friends. I played it all the way thru college. I recently over the past month started to play it again. I found other ppl in my neighborhood who are also into it. Well my friend recently picked up the Revised edition (Avalon Hill re-released it). For some reason the revised edition has the axis and allied powers more balanced.

Just wondering if anyone here ever played or still plays the game.

So far I have been able to win with every country.
All out victories and also economic victories.

Yeah we used to play it and shogun... set up at one of our houses around the neighborhood and leave it there till we were donw. Playing it at night or when it was crappy out. games could take a bit

I like board games like risk and axis and allies. used to play with wurm and when he would cheat game board would go flying so both of our wives forbid it lol.

I noticed when I play with the neighbors. We always get louder and louder. And next thing i know ppl are yelling at each other..throwing things..it gets pretty violent...LOL!!Im just waiting for a chair to get thrown!

aaaah... when I first saw your thread I thought you were referring to Call of Duty (pc game). I finally removed that damn game from my computer as it was taking too much of my time.

So you haven't done CoD2 then... :whistling:

Too bad!

Didn't this sob of a board game take like 2 hours just to set up? It was a great game but you had to devote a day to it. And your dead on Swissy, CoD2 is awesome!

CoD2! I've played it out a dozen times on the "don't make a mistake" setting. My #4 son plays competitively. He and his team will be in Dallas in June.

Naw ... I have it down to a science, well, used to - 10-15 min tops. But the game could take 5 hours to 2 days. It really depended on if someone was willing to conceed or not. Sometimes this was clearly decided in the first two rounds. I haven't really played it since college.

I found a box on sale for about $15, so I bought it, thinking I might play it again sometime. But I just haven't found anyone else who would play, or would want to spend that much time playing.

Now smoking some cigars and playing ... that would make it a hell of a lot more fun.

I have actually time to enjoy a cple cigars while playing.

Im trying to get my cigar buddies in the area to play. That way we can smoke and play..I stumbled across some expansion pack sets at the local Gamers paradise. Im going to have to look into them and se how they will effect the game.

Someone mentioned if this was like Risk. It is like Risk as much as Checkers is like Chess. Much more involved and strategic.

Great game too . . . takes at least 2-3 hours if all players are good. Been years since I played though.

I used to love this game. Very time consuming though. I am also a big Risk and Stratego fan. I love war/strategy games.
