I think the decision to go for it on 4th down from the 35 yard line happened too early to say it would have brought on a tie. And I agree it was arrogance, I think, to a man, the Pats felt they couldn't lose and so going for it on 4th down and making it would just shove it up the Giants nose.

It was a terrific game.

Can't say for sure if not going for the field goal altered the outcome, as everything from then on could have happened differently, but the idea that hubris might have undone Bill Belichick is kinda appealing to me...
 
It was a hell 'uv a ride. I was thoroughly entertained and got my money's worth. Most entertaining Pat's season ever. Wait till next year. :thumbs: I got the C's maybe the Bruins and Sox pitchers and catchers report soon. What you got? :rolleyes:

Good game that I predicted it would be. I've been telling my friends all week long, "12-point spread is too much...Patriots won't cover...it'll be a low-scoring game...GIANTS WILL WIN IT with good defense". Everyone laughed at me (it's OK though, I'm used to that).
 
I was nervous and pissed off most of the game, as I'm sure most of the true Giants fans were. Congrats to the Giants and Eli, to bad that defensive line couldn't land MVP. They deserved it. A hard fought battle in the trenches right down to the wire. I guess, I'll have to wait and see what happens next year. As one BOTL said to me in a PM. "You probably would have preffered that loss during the season." You know what he is right. Once again props to the true Giants fans. :thumbs:
