There's been an e-mail circulating supposedly from Bank of America that states that your account has had numerous attempts for access with an incorrect pin. You must contact them with your correct info or your account will be closed. This is a scam. If you open it, they may be able to access some of your private info. If you get this e'mail, contact BofA and they will give you an e-mail addy to forward it to. I frickin hate thieves. That's a bunch of BS. Fortuately I didn't go there. I sent it to the banks fraud division.
I did just find fraudulent charges for a service called Google Chest something. It's some scam for a home based business thing from England. They bill your account for 1.97 then wait to see if you catch it. Then a few weeks later they start billing you 72.00 a month. I don't know how they got my info but my bank said they've been dealing with this company's crap for a while now.
I think the more difficult times get, the more we will see more BS like this. Anyway, keep an eye out for a charge of 1.97 from Google Chest and be on the look out for these scams..

I get about 10 of these a day......just click on them for the fun of it and give them my info...same with the nice folks from Nigeria. One day they will pay off.

Having my work email up on a public site in plain text i get 2-3 of these a day. (290 this year). If you get something like this that concerns you whether through email or by phone (yes people do the same scam by phone) do not click any links or answer any questions or give any information out. If it's by phone tell them to make a note of it on your account and you will call back their main number. Then call the number on the back of your credit card and ask them about w/e the issue was (account closing suspicious charge, w/e) then if it really is a problem they will start taking care of it, if it's not then you just saved yourself from becoming a victim.

Phishing creates more victims then anything because it is so simple to pull off. People contact you pretend to be someone else, ask for a few bits of information to validate who you are, then use that information to act on your behalf later. So you have to validate both ways, never trust the person who initiated the conversation. I may seem paranoid but this is truly one of the things you can do that will save your ass from a majority of identity theft and other problems.

I always reply to those phishing scams. I get things like"verify your account", etc. from banks I don't even have accounts at. So what I do is log into the fake website with REALLY disgusting stuff. Like Username: go***yourself Password: stupidmugu. Try it, have fun imagining the stupid Nigerian's face when he reads the website log.

I must have a good filter. This is the first one like this I've got in years. WHEW. I wish I could send them a virus that would make their computer speakers fart every time the hit a vowel

That's something I've often thought about. Does anyone know an easy way to do this? Perhaps a site where you can enter an email address and they'll automatically start getting tons and tons of spam?
