Hahahaha, I made it man. My other hobbies are very woodworking oriented, so when I got an Xi2 I thought... why not make wood handles?! I'll take photos with my actual camera (those were camera phone) when I've got some time.

Looks like good craftsmanship, but I personally woulds chosen a darker wood, or used that maple on a stainless cutter....just my opinion, which shouldn't matter, because its your cutter, not mine.
 
The metal ones I'm pretty sure you can just unscrew... mine, the plastic, has three plastic pins that connect both sides of the handles, just slide a razor under the plastic part and cut through them, they come right off. And if you change your mind and don't like the wood in the end... just glue them back.
