Now you're my Idol.....

For me, lots of low-mid level politicians from Mayors to Governors. Had dinner at (then) Gov. Engler's Mansion a couple times (before the triplets) and knew Mayor Coleman Young (Detroit).

Met David Hasslehoff and KITT (more important IMO) at a Detroit car show. He kissed my sister and that's all I heard about for a year.

Met Sir Mix-a-lot and Kid Rock in Detroit bars.

Grew up around Marshall Mathers (yeah....Him). He was at my rival HS and a year ahead of me, then my grade, then a year behind me........

Met Red Hot Chili Peppers and Joan Jett when my brother Roadied for them in Detroit.

That's about it.

Met Ivan Koloff in a nightclub and almost got into a brawl wity Dirty Dick Murdock (he tag teamed with Dusty Rhodes) in the same club. It was a C&W club and a friend of mine was drunk... the music was playing and just the second the music stopped my friend shouts "Dick Murdock is a fag". Lucky Koloff, The Russian Bear (he was from Cleveland I think) was able to calm down Murdock before he got to my friend.

LOL-I got a great kick out of reading this Maggs. Glad to hear that your friend made it out with all of his teeth. Next time he wants to yell something, he should throw his voice behind John Stossel.  :D

I walked by Brent Spiner (Data from Star Trek TNG) in the Orlando airport. Once, at Olive Garden, Curly Neal (Harlem Globetrotters) sat at the table next to us.

My most impressive celebrity encounter is when Peter Graves (TV show "Mission Impossible") almost ran me over with his bicycle. It was in Santa Monica, CA and I was playing tourist. I stepped off the curb to walk across the street and then I hear the squeal of bike brakes. I look up and Peter Graves is doing a two-wheel slide in full lockup right at me. He stops just a couple of inches from me, I jump out of the way and he pedals on by. We don't speak and he never even puts his foot down. I remember being impressed by his bicycling skills...that he could come to a complete stop and then go again without putting his foot down.

Whenever I'm in a bs'ing session about who you've met that's famous and cool stuff you've done with famous people, I always tell my Peter Graves story. It usually gets the same reaction....like the one you're having now!

My highlights are:
Flew from Houston to LA with Kirk Douglas in '81.
Once in LA, chatted briefly with Danny Kaye at the farmers market.
Both are fine gents

Peter Jennings, he's not all that famous, just very well known. He's a HUGE barbershop fan. Particularly, a fan of Acoustix, quartet here in Dallas.

Nolan Ryan. He signed everything I could find at the moment. $100 bill, AL baseball, etc.. also got to talk about his opinion (which I had been preaching for years) of the decline in pitching over the years...mostly due to kids playing video games instead of playing bb every moment of every day possible.

Dick Van Dyke, he's an ambassador for our bbs organization.

Doc Severinson on many occasions. Used to show quarter horses with/against his daughter.

I met him during the first Middle East Summit in 1978 at Camp David. I was working security since Camp David is located in the middle of a national park.

I bumped in to John Travolta in Kona back in '84. He was very cool. Oh and David Lee Roth brushed by me while watching the Ironman Triathlon that same summer. I'm such a huge fan I was in complete disbelief and couldn't even say hey

Other than them I've met a bunch of my favorite artists that most of you have never heard of :D

Everyone has heard of Barney
