California Unflavored Tobacco Law Registration Deadline Passes- Dunbarton pulls out!

Unfortunately they could care less about them not playing along. Thats not want they want.
If more companies did this on enough different issues to impact more of the population, they may eventually get fed up with it. Sure, one cigar company stopping doesn't make much difference other than an inconvenience. But if most cigar companies stopped, and most gun makers stopped, and most diesel vehicle manufacturers, and most outdoor equipment manufacturers, and most of every other industry that is stiflingly overregulated... Eventually people will get sick of not being able to buy the products they want, that their friends and family in other states can.

That's the stupid part. Sure, they could sue. For what? It's bullshit overreach and they know it. But as you said, they're playing with unlimited house money, versus making the retailer pay out of pocket for counsel. An almost exact parallel to the 2A issues, which I am also a big proponent of. We call it "lawfare" (instead of warfare) in that community. Thankfully there has been a lot of good headway made on that issue lately, though still a ways to go. As you said, there is no grassroots National Cigar Association or equivalent, nor are cigars/smoking covered in the Constitution, so we truly are at the mercy of the state legislatures.

I am glad to see some companies telling CA to stuff it, though. I'm sick of them thinking they can control the entire market on various issues (gas cans, "Prop 65" warnings, diesel trucks, vehicle emissions, etc.). No offense to the CA members here, but that state needs to stay in its own fucking lane and let the rest of the country drive in ours.
It's the politicians. Don't confuse us citizens with them. Everything is rigged. We can't vote them out. It's going to take an uprising.

I know, hence why I said no offense to the members like you. I get that you're outnumbered. Buuuutttt:

If enough people there didn't keep voting for it, and/or putting up with the rigged system, it wouldn't keep happening.

Voting is rigged. Like I said to fix that people are going to have to take matters in their hands. Nobody wants that. But.... as time goes on.... they will get their way.

Yep, lived in this state for 46 years. It's 100% rigged. It's time for the wave to turn... Cost of living here is through the roof, and gets worse every year. Where do all of the tax dollars go??? Oh, I know...
