Dunno if anyone knows, or cares... but I signed up for a membership on Call Of Duty Headquarters and yesterday, a free invite and key showed up in my email. Entered it into my Xbox Live! account and I now have a beta test downloaded of the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War to play with!

WWII gaming at it's finest! Similar to CoD4, only WWII era which is my absolute favorite. Multiplayer, and co-op options will be available, but the beta only allows for team and free for all multiplayer. Sniper rifles, Molotov cocktails, flamethrowers, knife fights... air strikes can be called in, Thompson machine guns... oh hell yes I'll be buying this one!!

A few quirks in the beta, but then again... that's why they release betas!

I've played every CoD on the PC and am looking forward to a return to the WWII format.

Thank you for that info. I'm getting ready for Socom tomorrow but this COD5 looks intriguing. What's your Live S/n?

Thanks for rubbing it in asshole...
LMFAO!!!
You can still join... hopfully you get yours back before the game actually comes out (Nov 11th)

And for anyone that wants to check it out, hit THIS SITE and view the movie trailers...

I love CoD4 and had been playing a lot of Day of Defeat. My friends and I have love the physics in CoD4 but love the WW2 aspect of DoD, can't wait for this new version of CoD. It's gonna be gud!

I signed up on their new site last night and linked over my previous CoD account and got a nice shiny email this morning with a beta invite!

Don't feel bad, that game is COD4's engine but stuck in WWII. Not all that excited about it, can't wait to see what Infinity Ward will do with COD6.

Same here. I'm more excited about COD6 than this one. WWII's been there, beaten to death, and done that. Don't get me wrong, I love WWII history, but the MOH franchise killed it for me.

See, I'm the opposite. I have not bought CoD4 due to the simple fact that they left out co-op play. I have gotten to the point that I exercise my 'consumer power' and only buy what I like to play... and that's co-op. So the fact that this is the FIRST CoD with Co-Op is awesome and I intend on getting both the Xbox and the PC versions. In fact, already pre-ordered.

And, to be honest, there are just as many modern games as there are WWII. It just seems they come in waves together.

It would appear I missed the boat on the beta... sad.gif
Don't give up... according to the Call of Duty Headquarters forum, they are getting ready to send out another round of codes. And... it would seem the PC beta demo is coming soon and will NOT need any codes.

So what you're saying is, if you were SENT this game as maybe a gift, for maybe Christmas, that you'd play?? :whistling:

Actually, probably not! 90% of the gaming I do is online with friends in co-op mode. very rarely do I sit down and game alone. I doubt I've finished a single game on singleplayer... unless it was the singleplayer campaign is what you do the co-op with. For me, it's all about enjoying it with friends and teamwork.. kinda like life here at CP

I'm with you Swissy, I'm the same way. However the CoD4 sp campaign really is something to behold. Its one of the first sp games that I finished all the way through....and then bought it on pc to play online and finished it all the way through again. It's a great experience.

edit: This new CoD beta is great, but damn all these people that are better than me. I swear, give me a keyboard and mouse and its game over for them!!

I hate playing fps' online with a controller...I'm old school like that.
