First, mold on my cigars now a window broken on my car. Anybody know how much it would be to fix a window that won't roll up. It is the window regulator that is messed up on the right, rear window on a 2000 chevy tahoe.

last time I priced one...bout 10 years ago, bout $100.

And Raymond, how much are those new sports cars?

Bout a hundred dollars....

...

'Course it's 10 minutes to Wapner.

Ask you insurance first! They could fix that window up! as for the stoggies, you just need to get rid of them quick!

Only 2 smokes were effected by the mold. They are isolated and will be smoked ASAP. I've done some research. It looks like $75 for the part plus labor. I guess it's not that bad after all. Just the little things that piss you off I guess.

Insurance will only cover glass breakage not the regulator.

How handy are you? You could probably pick one up at ajunk yard for 50 bucks or so if you know how to instal it yourself.

Swifty,
I'm actually swift at assembly. No pun intended. I had the door taken apart just a bit ago. That's when I concluded it was the regulator. The thing is, I don't have all day to work on it. I need to be at work, and where I work, you don't leave the windows down. I have to work around stereo equipment that is installed in my car. So, there is more than meet the eye.

Bummer. :( BTW, to answer the question "can it get any worse?", let's just say I would avoid using that line of thinking. December 30, 1993 my house burned while I was out of town. Two weeks later my father killed himself. A few days later while visiting California for the first time (to claim my fathers body and take care of business) I woke up to the Northridge earthquake. During the course of the rest of 1994 both grandfathers died, great grandmother died, house was broken into while remodeling, car got broke into, car got repoed, and I filed bankruptcy. That's just what I remember off the top of my head. The point of all this is that every time something happened I would say "well, at least it can't get any worse than this". I have learned since not to tempt fate  .

OMG that's like the worst f*cken story I've heard since Salma Hayek started dating white men :0

You must be strong as an ox....and Ree's over here bitching about a couple of bad stoges ;) :p

I fixed my gf's regulator once on a mid-90s Camry, it can't be any harder on a Chevy. Got a new/refurbished unit froma junkyard of all places, dropped right in.

Wow, Swifty thanks for sharing the example. I've learned the hard way as well, let's just say I don't look at the world through rose colored glasses anymore and am no longer surprised at the things people can, and will, do.
.
We could get all philosophical here but this is definately not the board for that discussion :whistling: . Besides, those discussions are better after a couple bottles of wine

Maybe after some Negrette you are sending me. :p Well, got the regulator fixed and it sure set me back a box of Cohibas. 426.99 was the price to get it fixed. Yes, I'm not too happy. And, I got ripped off. :angry2:  :angry2:
