Thanks for the effort.
I know alot of ppl would be interested in this.
For me I will continue to use USPS.
Can't beat free materials, free pick up and ease of use. For the price I dont htink it can be beat.
I have yet to lose a package in the 5 yrs of using USPS. I normally ship out 5-20 boxes a month.
Alex:
You summed this up well and please allow me use your comments to make a point.
I think it's a matter of risk control and peace of mind. 95% of all USPS users have had good luck, the problem is that if something does go wrong USPS leaves you holding the bag. I can tell you that I have had a few anxious moments about a package containing sticks I could not easily replace.
So using a "hypothetical" price of $6.00; for the additional $1.40 you will lose free supplies but you will gain tracking and insurance, ease of use and free pick up remain the same.
If you lose one nice bomb or trade valued at $100 or, God forbid, a rare irreplaceable stick..........for me it's a no-brainer.
One more thing we will lose is the brainiacs at USPS web site telling me they don't know what a DC# is and that a nine digit zip code only specifies the county......and then there's the wench PMG who will spend 3 minutes telling me she is too busy to spend 1 minute checking on something for me.
Edited to add. Wilkey, the prospect of losing a promised cigar or a valuable bomb/trade probably has varying impact based on the senders ability to duplicate the gift/bomb/trade so I can definitely see that the peace of mind thing will vary wildly......could also be read like this...............you F'ing FOG's who have 10 of every cigar known to man have to hearken back to your newbie days
Did he say Cuban Cigars?.....CUBAN CIGARS?......phhhht......DON'T EVEN TO ABOUT CUBAN CIGARS!.......CUBAN CIGARS?
