Haha, this is unbelievable...I can't believe they're asking for them back. Hoepfully they make this right after acting like such asshats, which is going to take much more than just getting a replacement at this point.
I can. As a vendor you always want to make the customer happy. But I also want to see the product and have it so I can get into the manufactures ass if I have to! They should have never questioned you and immediately offered you a replacement. Most makers will take back product that is damaged or defective if the product has been stored properly. They know that it's a hand made product and occasionally you will have problems with it. Mold is something that if you are shipping someone just a fiver of should never be seen! I can't imagine the dim wits they have working in the shipping department of that place that couldn't see that mold from a mile away. If you ship it anyway you are just going to cause yourself more headaches in the long run. I just don't understand why you would ever ship that out in the first place.
 
Maybe your problem was with a single person over there and not a company wide case of "asshatitis" :laugh:

I think this was exactly the case. I was dealing with "John" at customer service, and I think he just couldn't admit any sort of responsibility/accountability.

When I called, I talked to "Marsha" who was very nice, and was willing to listen to my description of the problem before writing me off. She also said she would try look into why John may not have issued the return.

If I ever have to call there again (and I'm certainly hesitant to do any business there) I will ask for Marsha. :)
 
I just got off the phone with them... They are sending me a new 5pack of Gurkha Master Selects, and a return label to send the others back.

They will inspect the original order when it returns, so I hope than can see the mold.

Quite honestly, I am not surprised. I also had a bad experience recently with C-bid. I won a fiver of the IT Teepees. Well, I didn't know that the Teepees were in fact shaped like teepees. Very sharply tapered.....when I got 'em they looked like novelty cigars. And IT names these cigars with Indian type names like Chief, Tomahawk, etc. so I didn't think twice about it being a weird shaped cigar. Problem is that the picture posted on C-bid was not the Teepees. The size spec showed no tapering. We went back and forth with emails and they stuck to their guns....said I should have known about the weird shape because of the name. Anyway, I gave it up. The sticks were cheap and it was not worth the bother for me to make a big deal out of it. BTW, I agree that sure looked like mold to me.
 
I just received my replacement 5pack, which looked nicer than the original set. I also received a phone call from somone in customer service apologizing for saying it was plume based on the pictures. I told him he'll have a chance to see them first hand when they receive them back on the return.
