This add was in NY POST http://cigar500.com/specials/ code R2995NY

yes you read correctly original Cuban cigars advertised in NY POST. I did not believe it myself at first and really curious to see what will happen of this.

Wilkey and others who are ISOM secialists any hints that these might be fakes. Any thoughts in general ?

I am VERY surprised to see this ad in such a widely distributed newspaper.

Wow,

That's pretty ballsy. NY Post? I guess I'd be more shocked if it were in the Times but still, I'm a bit puzzled.

If they are in fact authorized by Havana House (the exclusive importer into Canada) , then these prices would seem to be in order. Perhaps our Canadian members could comment on this.

I wonder if we have any lawyers here. If it is a legal ad. Would it be legal for US consumers to buy based on the ad and the entrapment caluse.

Here is the ad itself for reference

I find it interesting that one of the cigars that you will receive is a Monte #2. However they have pictured what looks to be a Monte Edmundo instead. That along with the price sends me running the other way. ???

Does not shock me, hell Cigar Aficionado has video of suckling and others smoking cuban cigars. They even auction cuban cigars off at charity events, and our politicians are usually some of the buyers.

Now this is interesting, if the ad was placed by a Canadian vendor I don’t think any laws were broken here. I don’t know if the act of simply advertising is illegal and one could say the NY post is multi national too. But eh I wouldn’t touch that deal with a 10 foot pool. Someone’s going to noticed and put customs on alert.

Do all you wimps wear girl-panties?

I can't believe that you all are so scared of such a great deal. Obviously, it is a 100% GOOD IDEA to advertise sale of illegal products in a well known newspaper in one of the largest markets in the country.
I think the time is rights for me to advertise my "How to fund your polygomous marriages by selling fake passports to Arabs" scheme. It would probably go well wih the half-page add I have taken out for the "Plying children with the methamphetamines you got them hooked on to take dirty pictures for the internet" pamphlets I've been selling.
And of course, who could forget my wildly succesful "Cannabalism for Fun and profit" kits of the 1990's. This year's release..."Now with more tongue-tingling (or marinating) recipes!!!"

Ok - about a year ago we had a guy come into our store and buy a ridiculous amount of only Fuente classic line product. He said he knows/smokes with the owner of that site (Cigar500.com) - the site always seemed a little suspect to me. They don't have a policy to replace or refund "tobacco products".

I don't know about the legality of it but it seems as though just advertising Cuban cigars isn't illegal (though it may be stupid). I never believe anything I read in the Post anyways.

I ordered several of these using my names:

Gary in CT
Josh in CT
Andrew in NY
Chris in CA
Wilkey in DE

I hope they get there and are smokable :whistling:

I wouldn't believe it if the Post printed an article talking about the blueness of the sky and the greenness of the grass.
