I think they are cool, but I agree with the 2nd poster.... I would have to think that would promote a "thanks ok" attitude toward going after my cigars... I love my dog, but I'm gonna be pissed if he gets in my cigars! 
EDIT: I didn't know rawhide was bad for dogs!? We've been giving our puppy rawhide treats.

There have been some studies done where puppies raised with rawhides can become more aggressive later on.

rawhide is NOT good for puppies. After a year they say you can give it to them, but in moderation.

Rawhide give my dogs the runs, something bad. Greenies are good, but we treat ours with Yummy Chummies. They love these things so much their treat word is actually 'Chummy'! And their coats are shinier and glossier than the other Swissy's in town as a result of the oils in the treats. I actually had a 'professional dog show judge' (no kidding...) stop me and ask why their coats were so much better. This guy was on vacation up here and stopped me at the open air market where we walk them every Saturday in the summer- he spent an hour with us... pretty interesting. Too bad I don't give a good damn about showing! :laugh:
And no, they don't get rank dead fish breath from them! That comes from the actual smoked salmon skins they get in the fall after I'm done smoking my salmon! *Phew!*

I agree on the peanut butter, I used to give my dog the Kong Toy filled with peanut Butter (lost it, have to buy another one) and he loved it. Another treat he really likes, are the Milkbone dog cookies. ONe treat ive seen he really doesnt like, are those, chewy bacon strips, or sticks. He grabs them tastes them then spit them.

It had everything to do with the price. No one wants to pay $3.95 for a stick of rawhide that would cost 99 cents at Wal-Mart.

Rawhide makes puppies aggressive!? :0 Well that explains alot!
We've BEEN giving our now 4 month old Dachshund puppy rawhide treats --- and he LOVES to bite and play ruff, but I just assumed it was because he's a male. I guess I'll tell the wife and kids to not buy rawhide anymore.
I don't think I've seen these "greenies" everyone is talking about - I'll have to go out and search for them. Our puppy loves the kong toy with peanut butter.... I usually don't fill it though, just coat the inside a bit... he's only about 6.5 pounds right now, and a full kong of pb would be like a meal.
We have given him the bacon strip treats from wal mart (ol roy) and he likes those alot. We've also tried him on several other "meaty" treats (stake bits and t bonz)... I guess when it comes right down to it, he's only rejected 2 kinds of "food" anything... he didn't like science diet food (made him sick actually - now he eats nutromax), and a IAMS sauce that looks like BBQ sauce for dogs - he refuses to get anywhere near it... and it actually smells great- but he won't eat it.
