Cigar of the month

Lets see, lets see…December COTM for William.

Has to be a tie between Davidoff’s Year of the Horse and Chefs Edition. Both very good and enjoyed in exquisite company.

Only smoked a handful in December and nothing spectacular unfortunately. Very close between a couple 2 year old Yerandys. I’ll give the nod to the Piramides over the Churchills. Very Cohiba-like - medium strength but full flavored, smooth, cream caramel delicious. Love that I can pull one of these from my custom roll collection with as little as two years age and know they will be fantastic.

I really enjoyed this stick the other day. Might be in my top 5 or 10 in the five years I've been paying attention. Caldwell Anastasia. So it is my January COTM and will be a frontrunner for 2026.

I think January will be the Tabernacle David for me. I don't know if the blend is tweaked for the perfecto vitolas, if it had some extra age on it, or if the mood was just right for it, but I enjoyed it quite a bit more than the other regular Tabernacles I've had. (Though I do still like the Tab red better than the black.)

‘19 Romeo y Julieta Grand Churchills 7 1/2 X 56 Beast! (from special release humidor celebrating the 20th Habanos Festival) - can already declare this my cigar of the year. Talk about anticlimactic.
Cold draw cherry bark & almonds - first few draws tastes like a 15-20 year old at least - cherry, cotton candy, syrupy sweet yet delicate and so incredibly complex. Perfect medium strength. I could go on and on as my notes are voluminous but suffice it to say it’s as if this cigar was rolled to my exact specifications. Absolutely mind blowing and almost two and a half hours to boot.
