Cigar related inventions

One of my hobbies ever since I can remember is inventing. I have invented many, many products, however I have yet to actually manufacture one of my ideas. Unfortunately one of my biggest inventions was recently produced by some chinese company overseas. However, they don't have any competition. About 8 years ago I came up with the idea of an illuminated keyboard. About a year ago it's on the market, and I'm not impressed by it. It's a POS in my opinion. If I had enough capital behind me, mine would be in stores everywhere. Need alot of R&D to go into my version. Don't have any investors lined up though...

In any case, has anyone come up with any cigar related products that aren't on the market? I had an idea a few years ago, but after I did some research, someone already invented an ashtray that sucks in smoke.

We are in the patent process on an item, not cigar related, and let me tell ya', there's a lot of red tape involved.

About 8 years ago I came up with the idea of an illuminated keyboard.

I've been using Laptops with back-lit illumated keyboards fro about 5 years......

As for cigar inventions... hadn't dwelled on it yet.

The only thing I invented (but couldn't fund) was self cooling cans. By sacrificing about .75 oz per can, I had devised a system of aluminum tubing coiled within the can and connected to the top. The coil was filled with compressed air, so that as the can was opened, the escaping air lowered the coil's temperature to about 30 degrees (much like spaying keyboard cleaner compressed air and having the can get cold in your hand). So the coil cooled the beverage without the need for coolers and ice. You could simply pull a can of beer, pop, what-have-you; open the top and enjoy a freshly cooled beverage. (and it wouldn't get watered down either).

By reversing the cryogenic charge on superconducting electromagnetic coils, you can spontaneously reconstruct complex organic molecular structures.

By binding that technology with current wireless IP and GPS technology,we have been able to "transport" Padron 1926's from an undisclosed location in or around Rochester NY to "undisclosed" locations in or near the Carolinas.

We've been trying to lock in on some original release Anejo's or VSG's but haven't quite got that one figured out.... :whistling:

the beer can cigar-holder!

when one has not an ashtray, just put your finger in the middle of an empty 12oz. can and push down. What you get is similar to an ashtay and similar to a cigar holder.
I just call it amazing.

ON a serious note I have just about all the paperwork done and have been working on a tiny little lathe someone sold me. I am making a device for extending the life of a really good cigar. You know the kind...it is so delicious that you are burning your fingers at the end. You insert this and --voila-- a few more puffs.

I am calling it "SMOKE EXTENDER"®

What we do at my work is actually what you have been talking about. We import parts and equipment (OEM) and produce anything made of any plastic or steel. We take peoples inventions and see if they are worth going to market with. We also import parts for major corporations, ie. Moroso Performance Parts, Burgess Products (Maker of the Ortho Bug Spray), Benteler Automotive (They supply Ford Motor Company), Faro Laser Tech, International Surfacing (They supply horse shoes to the NY State Police Dept), etc. We currently are working two major inventions and we know one of them will be next years 10 million dollar seller. As soon as we go to market which should be with in the next two months, I'll let you all know. Last thing I want to say. If you have an idea, just to get it started with, you'll need to figure on $20,000 to get the project off the ground. There are charges for an Enginerr to produce your Engineered Drawings / Prints (we have one on staff here), Pattern search and application, Tooling and Mold fee, your initial shipment to go to market, and then your packaging and marketing costs. So when I say it will cost you $20,000 to get off the ground, I'm actually low balling it. The one project that we are bringing to market real soon has already costed us roughly $28,000 and that is for the first 1,000 pieces. I live in Kansas and we have some pretty nasty hail storms on a fairly regular basis around here pretty much every year. I don't have a garage and was always wishing I could find a padded car cover of some type to protect my car from hail damage until I finally got my garage up. I looked and looked but never found one and kind of wished someone would make one. It's been a long while since I have looked and don't really need one anymore, so they may be around now.

The very first time I heard about recordable cd's being developed I thought someone should create a web site to let people select licencenced music to be burned onto a custom cd that can then be mailed to the customer.

I seen a guy selling a poker party company. He goes to bars and companys and such and runs special poker night events, tournaments or such for people. It would be nice to have a web site that does the same thing but online. Employes of a company could have a room all for themselves to set up tournaments or just meet to play for an evening and it would be just for them alone.

Someone can perfect a cooler that automaticly opens and closes. A Rube Goldberg version was discussed in the Humidor section a while back.

Here is an idea that will make you a billionaire. Invent a cooler that works in the same manner a microwave heats things. You could put a boiling hot cup of water in and in 5 minutes have it frozen solid. If you make it and market it just send me 5% of gross, I'm not greedy.

The technology is up to you, I'm just the idea man.

Good thread, very inventive and creative like the duck decoy with the self-retracting cord and weight. Now someone has one they have marketed. Wonder if it works?
