So, I went out this morning for my annual phycial fitness exam. Although I am Air Force, they force us to go to an Army post to do the exam. Anyways, I finished that up, and was exiting the post, when, through my blurry vision, I saw something that made me jam on the breaks of my car immediatly. This was a sign the read "Cigar Store". My curiosity got the best of me and was thinking why an Army post would actually have a cigar store since the military seems to be high on anti-smoking. Anyways, I pulled up the the front of the store, parked and walked in.
The entire B&M was no bigger than a typical master bedroom. Large open area with a shelf against the right wall with many accessories, mostly lighters, and CA magazines. I did not see any humidors, but apparently the store was brand new. To the right was a walk in humidor. After brief greetings with the employee, I ventured inside the humidor. I can only describe the smell that hit my nose as brand fresh spanish cedar. I don't know if it's normal for a new B&M walk-in to smell like this, but I did find it rather unpleasant. After a few minutes, I go accustomed to the smell.
The prices seemed moderate for some smokes, such as CAO Brazilias; kind of high for others like the Cohiba XV Extra Vigoroso. There were quite a lot of bag samplers that I liked, my favorite being an 11 count bag of LFD Chisels for $59. The guy working also said he would take an additional 10%, so besides there being no tax, I figured that would be a pretty good deal.
Unfortunatly, I blew my cigar wad for the month and could only window shop, for the time being. I believe I will be making a trip down there again to see if I can score a good deal next month. Until then...
