I've been pondering an idea. I want to run it by the group before doing it. I do not in any way want to seem pompous and assuming in my thinking. In my feeble mind, I cannot think why this would be wrong. I report, you decide. :D

I have an excessive amount of "US Legal" cigars. I have a small amount of "non-legal US" cigars. (can you see where I am going with this?) I want to list some domestic cigars that I have for trade and then folks can PM me to enquire about a trade with ISOM's.

Is it wrong to post a list of cigars types a person has to trade as an offer for another brand? These would not be cigars that have been gifted to me.

On that note, while I've got you... WHat if a person has some cigars the he got in a blind trade (or even a bomb - please specify when giving permission) that he doesn't like. Can these be traded to someone who wants them for something you want or are we forever destined to smoke what is sent us?

:0 AHA!! I KNEW you didn't like those El Ropos I sent you, you...you... :sign:

From my side, anything I trade or bomb another person with becomes his property to do with as he wishes. For all I care, he can use them to worm the cat.
(My apologies to any cats on the list.)

For cryin' out loud, I'm not giving you a diamond ring!

Now, this is strictly MY opinion and MY feelings about this. Others may feel very differently, so I don't know if there could be a hard and fast rule. But, if what you are doing is trading, not selling, then I don't see the problem.

Why would this be wrong? I mean, how do you know what each person has? Haven't people already done this here? It actually might not be a bad idea to have this as a part of one's profile....maybe list a link to a web page that lists your current cigars. I know I'm still new here, but I get the feeling that something like this won't ruffle anyone's feathers.

Hey, I'm a big proponent of the 'good home' method. The cigar should end up where it will be appreciated. If you're not going to enjoy it, then what would be better but to pass it along to someone who will?

I'm working on my first bomb now....kind of a 'themed' bomb. I tried to throw in a little something extra, but sometimes it's tough to tell if someone will like it or not. If each person mailed me, and said they didn't like it, and were going to trade it...it wouldn't bother me in the least. So long as someone eventually enjoys the cigar......that's what it's all about, right?

Well said! I agree completely. :)

BTW SD, you're more than welcome to trade away any of my bomb. I put it to good use. If you can turn it into something else even better, then by all means di it.

There is nothing in your bomb that I want to trade. 99.9999% of the cigars I get in a any blind trade or any bomb is something that I haven't tried. I am not trading something I haven't tried yet and chance getting rid of what may become a favorite. :D

I think it's a great idea Steven. I doubt anyone here would object especially with your stellar reputation :D I for one am very curious to find out what you have available for trade.

I have to agree with the "Good Home" method. Once a cigar is given to me, or once I give a cigar to someone else, that cigar becomes the property of the person to whom it was given.

I would have a hard time listing an inventory of the cigars I own, simply because they a spread over several humidors, my house and my motorhome, and TWO Countries!

Once a cigar goes into one of my humidors, and since I have several, it doesn't take long for me to forget where they came from. That is just the way it goes. . . so if someone wants me and only me to smoke the cigar, then they should put an extra band on the cigar with that info on it so that it won't go somewhere else.

That is just my opinion. . . .

HAPPY SMOKES! ! !
