Can you folks clue me in on the differences between the profile pics, avatars, pics at bottom, etc.?
I think I can manage the profile pic.
Which is the one near the members name? The avatar?
How does one make/find/attatch this?
And those nifty pics at the bottom of the message. Wassup wid dat?
Please keep in mind that you are replying to a "big dummy" (me). ???

Cpt....the avatar is the pic by your name when you post. The profile pic is only shown in your profile. If you want a sig pic, you will need to add the web location for it in your sig.

Example:

{img}http://www.yahoo.com{img}

Where yahoo.com would be the location of the pic.

*When posting a pic you must use

Thank you oh KING OF THE SIGNATURE PICS!
However...
I managed to "publish to the web" some picture files in MSN Groups/Documents thinking that would be a URL to enter in the avatar window, but no go.
Did I upload these files to the wrong type of site?
Sorry to bog you down with this crap.

An easy way to find a location address for an image online is view the image in your browser and right click on the image, and select "properties" IE shows it as 'address (url)' and Firefox shows it as "location"

I found a picture hosting site and started an album but...
the pic for the signature field just appeared as a hyperlink (I don't want that) and the avatar pic (a .jpg) just ain't being accepted.
WAAAHHH!
What am I doing wrong? Am I gonna have to ask my kids for help?

I'm better at doing these things than explaining them but here goes...

You need to cut and paste the entire pic link (http://www.etc...) into the correct fields in the control panel. Have you done that?

Let's go to the chat room if you still need help. It'll be easier and we can stop posting on the board.
