It's pretty humbling as I sit back and reflect on this. When I got the call from Baghdad yesterday I thought it was a prank call....I mean after being passed over for the last three years, I figured the odds were definately not in my favor. My personal belief is that the Good Lord was behind this all along.....meaning if I was promoted earlier I wouldn't have had the opportunity to serve with all the great Soldiers in 589th and in Iraq. And I wouldn't be enjoying the good camaraderie here on CP.

But this unexpected event does leave me with some uncertainty, but I won't think on that too long, I'll just see what the Good Lord has in store.

In the meantime, I'll sit back and enjoy the moment and smoke another good cigar.....I smoked a La Aurora Maduro Torpedo last night I think I'll have a RP Vintage Churchill ('90 or '92) today..... :cool:

Thanks for all your kind words and I've given the Mrs. a warning order about the promotion party/herf sometime in Jan '07.....

Congratulations!!! Well deserved, I'm sure. I've met you personally and am better for it. I can only imagine the impact you have on those you work with. Brickhouse and tasman seem to have turned alright. Let us know when the ceremony is and afterwards I'll join you in a virtual herf to celebrate!!
