Like everyone is trying to tell you........ I contacted the vendor and they reshipped successfully.

Lay low for a year or more, purchasing from sale threads here and elsewhere.

That, and I don't think I'd ever place that big of an order all at the same time. It's asking for scrutiny.

I've got a brother that had 11 boxes ordered... all were shipped & the letter was sent, this was a couple/few years ago... 
He simply had them re-shipped separately.
 
And to think I was sweating over two measly cigars getting through customs and delivered to someone...

I think the best course of action is outlining in a public forum just how much they underestimated the value of the goods siezed. Maybe call the number on the letter and say "Oh no, you must have missed some. This is what's in there..."

Yes and yes.  Smoke what you like and like what you smoke........but be prepared and accept the consequences for the illegal ones.
 
1) Search is your friend
2) Which exact letter did you get
     2a) See (1) !
3) Know your vendors shipping/refund/ga-run-tee policies!
4) Know what your getting yourself into!

As you WELL KNOW, CC's in the US are illegal.  If you are going to take the risk, you must be ready to wind up on the losing end.  Tough luck Brother.
 
Got any pictures? Maybe of the envelope addressed to you??? We need to see which letter it is to provide proper legal counsel. No matter that, if I were you, I'd hire an attorney right away and fight it. It shouldn't cost too much, especially is $900+ doesn't matter to you.

First - who was the vendor? Did they ship all the cigars in one box? ....and with bands or unbanded?
 
Second...if you want help, please read and respond to my earlier post.
 
Third, WTF did the letter say 'exactly'...not how YOU interpret it - (fuck, if you did that we'd think you were cuffs already).
 
Fourth...search is your friend!

You'd be well advised to take the advice given here.
Out of curiosity, I did a search on this as well, there is plenty of information that can assist you.
Not to mention, despite the hazing your getting (all in fun of course), there are many BOTLs here that will help you I'm sure; but you must first help yourself to at least get an understanding.
