Having some major lightning strikes, thunderclaps, pouring rain. This last one sent my little buddy scurrying into his crate, and was so loud I swear I felt it in my teeth.

Europe is supposed to get hammered tonight and tomorrow as well...

Batten down the hatches MC!

I work 65 miles from my house. Its perfect here and I just called my wife and she said its like a monsoon over there. NOT GOOD AT ALL.

Here in the midwest we refer to those as lite spring showers.

Seriously I hope none of you suffer any damage in those storms as I know from experience that they can be pretty violent and threatening. Hopefully it weakens and passes through quickly. Also, if I remember when I get home this evening I will post a link to the youtube video I recorded last week of an awsome looking lightning storm we had here.

It's starting to clear up down in Kendall, so the beach should be calming down before too long. Broward is getting crapped on though.

I hate strong storms. The ocassional lightning storm is nice...

I'll stick with my dry 112 degree days and not deal with that stuff till monsoon season.

The squalls are passing through, but looking at the doppler real-time, there some more rolling in from the west, heading in an east-north-east direction. These usually come about in the afternoons or so during the rainy season, and during hurricane season, tropical drenchings and then they pass - but lately they have been real ball busters. Today, it was constant flashes of lightning, very close, with very loud thunderclaps and just torrential downpours. Not getting any reading on precip levels/hr yet though. Probably won't be crazy significant given the speed with which these blow through...but if they don't let up...

Nothing like a Miami thunderstorm. You can watch the wall of grey coming in while the sun is shining. All hell breaks loose. Then it's done. The sun comes out and the humidity jacks way up.

we just had a shit storm roll through over here on the west coast... prolly heading your way

Gotcha Brent... Pretty crazy storm. Hope everyone stays safe and don't take too many chances... This is serious power you can't fuck with.

Cool vid.

From the lightning strike capital here, I can say that we have some truly spectacular shows sometimes. I actually love catching them, particularly from my crib way up in the sky - makes for some great views of that.

Thanks for sharing that clip.

I lived in Coral Gables for a few years. Rain storms up here don't compare, but the sunsets definitely do.
