One last question, for now.When I laid my wood floors in my house I rubbed them down with an Odorless Mineral Spirit (OMS if you want to sound like you're in the chemical biz) and it brought out a richness that lasts to this day. Would this be adviseable for cedar?

I put some OMS on a rag and just wiped the wood down with it. Petroleum distillates are readily absorbed into wood and it left the wood with a deep, rich color. I then applied four coats of polyeurothane. I was wondering if the OMS would do the same to the decking. I would assume the oil-based sealant would have some sort of mineral spirit in it to act as a delivery system so maybe it would be overkill? Have sealants gotten any better, i.e. do they last longer?
