I spent yesterday at my parent's house. My cousin flew in from England, and they were having a BBQ since she'll be traveling Labor Day weekend. For some reason, my parent's yard is TERRIBLE for mosquitoes. We had a fire pit in the back, citronella candles everywhere, and even sprayed some kind of yard guard before we all went outside.

Sundown comes and everyone is reaching for the bug spray. I had just finished grilling dessert and was relaxing with my coffee and cognac and I grabbed an Anejo Shark (gifted to me by our very own Gary). The results of my very scientific testing show that everyone is complaining the next day of mosquito bites, and I am bite free.

Unfortunately, summer is pretty much over before it even started, but I look forward to testing this theory with other marcas and vitolas.

Peaches. You grilled Peaches, didn't you? Yeah it was peaches, but you added some cream and granola. You're so predictable Tom. You can send my winnings to Souldog

No it wouldn't be peaches, to easy...

Something different, perhaps tropical to celebrate the end of summer? Yeah, you're a snarky SOB... Pineapple!!!!

You grilled pineapple, didn't you...you did...but not just any pineapple, no not you Mr. Shark smoker...No, you got some special imported pineapple...Maui...I bet that's it, isn't it...

No still to plain for your high brow attitude, you probably made rum butter and glazed them with brown sugar. But, why stop there. Did you top them with mascarpone and vanilla?

I bet you did...

Incredible guesses, Brandon.

My sister-in-law just got back from Maui, and the one thing my son asked for before she left was a pineapple. So, she brought him one back. Then he wanted me to make a dessert with him. So, like Breedy said, I melted down some butter, added dark rum and brown sugar, and used that as a glaze while I grilled the pineapple slices, and then topped it with some mascarpone cheese I mixed with some vanilla. Something easy enough that my son could help, and it came out really good.

Brandon you are a window into Tom's very soul  (That is too funny) and Tom, you are a grilling Monster.

Glad you enjoyed sir.

Tom, you've made Bobby Flay very happy. I've tried that exact recipe and was very happy with the results.

I have no idea which one is more effective, but I know that I do not like bugspray anywhere near me ever. I'll take the cigar any day.

I've noticed something similar, Tom. Whenever I am out back smoking cigars, everyone else is swatting bugs while I am sitting content and bug free with my stick. :D Poor bastids should just realize the joys AND benefits of cigar smoking!
