Since last July my friend, slevy007, has been telling me about Pepin cigars. Unfortunately I have not gotten around to pick any up. I tend to like a more full bodied stick such as CAO Brazilia, el Ray del Mundo, Ashton VSG, etc. Based upon this flavor profile which Pepin cigar(s) would suggest I try out?

The Blue and Black label Pepin's would be a good start. Serie JJ are also nice. If it doesn't matter if Pepin's name is on the cigar any of the Brown Tat's

Doc.

As Doc said, any Pepin stick is a damn good one. The Blue Labels are my favorite, but the Serie JJ are excellent too. Both are strong, but the JJ are a bit tamed down. Not by much though. His Vegas Cubanas are another excellent choice.

Also, check out the 601's. The Red Label in those are amazing, and a "new" maduro is out now too which is incredible. Of course, Pepin is behind Tatuaje and Padilla Miami as well, so those sticks are good bet for you too. Speaking of Padilla, the Padilla Achilles are another Pepin as well. Very tasty sticks.

Anyway you cut it, Pepin is a master is truly crafting some world-class sticks. I can't get enough of them.

thanks

and

BOO YAH!!!

I just picked up a 5 pack of the Padilla Achilles. I've read mixed reviews, none bad, but no outstanding remarks either. I'm anxious to try one and then age the rest for 6 mos/1 year.

The Tatuaje is a great cigar, especially the brown label line. I've yet to try a Miami yet either, but everybody raves. That's the next super premium stick on my list.

Let us know what you discover.

I've been in there (Cigarking in Scottsdale) and they took me back into the warehouse....good people there.

As for Pepin's, I just had my first Don Pepin Garcia 'Classic Cuban' (black label) and I hated it. It was like it was trying real hard to be a cuban but ended up tasting more like pot. Worse than pot....musty and nasty. It was fresh though.

Favorite Pepins would be the vegas cubanas, black labels and brown tatuajes. I just had a el rey de los habanos and that was pretty good as well. You really can't go wrong with any pepin though as the others have said.

I don't know a whole lot, but I'm willing to bet if you got a cigar that tasted like pot, and was musty and nasty, it was a bad stick.

You didn't happen to buy it at TNT did you?

O/T, It's easier for me to list the ones I don't care for. Of all I have tried, the JJ and the Padilla Achilles don't do much for me. The Blue Labels, Black Labels, Tatuajes (red and brown) and Padilla Miami and Vegas Cubanas, on the other hand, rock. The CI Legends yellow labels are good, too, and a good value IMO.

whats a good vitola for Vegas Cubanas?

I've had all of them except the Coronas, and I have to say all are equally equisite. I expect the Coronas are as well. If I had to pick my one favorite, I would say it is the Delicias, tied with the Magnates, with the Imperiales a close second.

Send me your snail mail and I'll get a small sampling out to you. I have the Blue, JJ belicoso, CI Legend series, and a Tatuaje you can sample and form your own opinion. I personally really like the Pepin stuff. Just remembered I have Padilla Achilles also but this is the least favorite of mine. The Old Henry from Holts is good too but I only have one left.

Nice Gesture!
Enjoy those sticks!
Me is a Tatuaje fan!
