Your not alone...ive been getting them by the truckloads too. Just be VERY careful which ones your opening and clicking on the links...the fake ones are often nearly indistinguishable from the real ones.

I just wouldn't type in your username/password in anything that you don't type ebay.com into the browser, the fakes are nearly indistinguishable except for ip address as jeffro said

Back when I was still married(OH the horror) we kept getting these credit card offers in the mail. The exwife clipped coupons and I got a little pissy over all the junk mail one day and sent a bunch of expired coupons to every credit card company that sent me an offer that week.

One of them sent me a follow up mailing explaining that I had violated some law regarding postage. I had no option but to reply that I was just making my first monthly payment so I could stay ahead of all the offers I accepted over the last two weeks....and included more coupons to be applied toward any future purchases and an offer from some other credit company just incase they run out.....in their postage paid envelope(idiots should have known not to send another one!)...haven't heard from them since

I received a couple fake emails from Paypal and notified them that I thought they were fake and sure enough they were.

The mail from paypal said by clicking the links on that fake email would have put a virus in my PC and possible loss of valuable info.

Keep your eyes peeled guys

I have had those too. I forward them to Paypals fraud dept.
Never open a link in emails from companies I go to the companies site and check it out there.
Don't think you can't be fooled
Not all crooks are stupid, some are very good at what they do
You have to keep a sharp eye out

I've gotten two recent Phishing emails recently, one from eBay and one from PayPal. Just looking at them you'd swear they were genuine; even the logos look right.
It's when you hover over the links that you see bogus URLs show up in the lower
bar of your mail client window. Anybody not sharp enough to check that before clicking...... :angry2:

Ebay and PayPal also say they will never ask for your username/password by email, so if you're in doubt, type ebay.com or paypal.com into your browser and log in from there. If it's really something they need you can do it from there.
