Favre returning for 2006 season.....

Favre is a great quarterback, hope they get some players to support him. Good luck in the draft. Maybe you can lend him your tiara for luck :p
 
Heh, well im probably going to get lynched but I don’t like it one bit. One needs to bite the bullet and have some rebuilding years and that’s just not going to happen while Farve is still playing so there going to do average at best.
 
It would be nice if they could at least make the Playoffs in his final run, but I don't know if that will happen. Javon Walker will likely be gone, they really need to strengthen their O-Line, and the Defense is just not good. If Ahman Green can stay healthy (yeah right!) maybe they'll have half a chance. It's going to be tough to overcome the Bears next season if they're anywhere near as good as last season. Detroit may also surprise some (or not). Who knows about the Vikings?

Hopefully, Favre will have a better year than last. I'd hate to see him go out like that.
 
I really like Favre, but I agree that it's time for him to step down. Unless some miracle happens this year, he'll end his career on his 2nd losing season in his 16 years.
 
The only good I can see coming from this (and I'm not a Packer fan) is that Favre will attract some players who would want to play with a legend like Favre. There is a certain draw to that.

I agree - this is a rebuilding time - but certainly Favre will be better for the team than most other QB's the Packers would be able to get.
 
This announcement just guarantees that my buddy will pick him up in fantasy football again this year. He's done for the season already. :laugh:
 
After the way Farve treated his team, I really hope he has his worst season ever. I think he had the right to choose if he wanted to come back or not, but not to make his team wait this long. After they cut T-Murph, Green Bay can rot in hell for all I care. I have never agreed with cutting a player after he nearly dies playing for your team without giving him at least another year to see if he can somehow recover.
 
I'm glad he's coming back, Detroit needs some competition for the bottom of the division.

Looks like all we have to worry about are the bears.
 
I listen to sports talk on XM while I travel throughout the day and this has been the lead on every show so far, most analysts agree that this was a bad decision. I myself have no vested interest in his staying or going other than the fact that my grandma watches his games every week and reports to me on how she thinks he is being beaten into retardation. This should give me at least one more year of this hilarious family tradition.


By the way...Has anyone heard yet what it is that finally prodded him to come to a decision?

I think the decision was more of a safety issue, than business. As much I enjoyed watching him play when I attended A&M, and seeing him get drafted into the NFL; I can't fault the Pack for cutting him. Spinal injuries are very, very, very tough to come back from; and if you do there is always the chance for a worse re-injury. You cannot currently repair a damaged or bruised spinal cord. As much I want to see T Murph play some more, it is not worth the risks if he gets re-injured.
 
Bears fans everywhere are frowning :( Anytime #4 is on the field he gives his team a chance to win. I love Favre but hate the Packers (sorry Brandon), weird how that works.
 
What is all this Packers, Bears, and Niners talk for? Doesn't the NFC just determine the loser of the Super Bowl? :sign:
