So is there anyone else out there in CP Land who does the traditional feast of the seven fishes? My family does it every year and it is probably the day that I look forward to most.

We have everything from Linguni with clam sauce, calamari, mussels, and scungilli, to huge pasta dishes, trout, smoked salmon, and anything else you can think of! OH man my mouth is watering just typing about it.

I'm actually on my way out now to pick up the fish and wine for tomorrow.

So feel free to share any dishes you make or love to eat on the Feast of the Seven Fishes.
 
Lobster, Stuffed Haddock, Shrimp scampi, fried calamari, octopus salad, Baccala, smoked salmon, crab Little necks on the half shell steamed mussels. My white Anglo-Saxon wife ain't allowed in the kitchen out of respect for my Nonas, who sadly are no longer with us but their cooking lives on through me and my daughter and someday my granddaughter. Bona Natala.

Sadly, this is something I was to young to appreciate when I was younger, but would give my left arm to be able to enjoy now that both my Great Grandma, and Grandmother are gone.

I vaguely remember the whole smoked salmon, linguine alla pescatora, calamari, and baked eel among several other dishes. A whole feast of food with my Great Grandma frantically making her rounds worried that everyone did not get enough to eat, encouraging them to eat more.......... Even though everyone was miserably full.

No seven fishes this year. Just me and my boy. I might make a a simple shellfish and pasta dish. I developed a Shrimp dish that is a fusion of Italian and Louisiana, which has a heavy Italian influence anyway. Perhaps I'll post it on the recipe forum some day, if I ever figure out quantities. :D

I will make some Brasciole with pig skin. Now that is good eating!
 
Not sure how some of those dishes are prepared, but I would eat EVERYTHING you just mentioned! I'm hungry now.
 
I'm fished out. The women are cleaning up the mess I made and I'm having a snifter of Gran Mariner and an opus X Lancero. Ricotta pie topped with pineapple, torcetti, and vanilla date pie await. I'm looking forward to the day I can turn this job over to my daughter.

Whew! Well tonight's menu consisted of shrimp cocktail, seafood chowder (shrimp, scallops, whitefish), steamed mussels, scungilli, fried smelts, rabe, linguini with clams, pasta puttanseca. baked flounder, all sorts of fruits, cookies, coffee, espresso, more vino than you can imagine, scotch, and all-around good times. Can't wait until next year.
 
Yup...I do it too. Shrimp (cocktail, and scampi over linguine), flounder for the kids, a huge haddock stuffed with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, broccoli rabe, & crab meat, fried calamari, baccala in a light tomato gravy w/ potatoes et al, clams (raw & casino), 'gabadone' (eel fried in olive oil dipped in seasoned flour), and of course...linguine w/anchovies and tons of garlic.

My brother and I are carrying on the tradition until we croak!
