Hey I'm finally here and an interesting note. They opened a new cigar shop at Grand Lido Braco. They sell a nice variety of cigars including habana's. The hotel management says they cannot sell counterfeits, not that I'd really know. The build looks very good, the label is quality (I'll bring back the label and send it to a FOG). About $25 USD for a Cohiba Edition Limitada 2005. Tastes GREAT!!

nice, good for you man.

I wish I was sitting down in Jamaica right now. See if you can find your way to one of the traditional Jerk Chicken shacks down there. You'll love the stuff. Maybe just ask around where you can go to get some.

The shanties in the countryside are the best by far! Actually the last time I went I ate so much jerk my lips swelled... I looked like donald duck!!

Not a fake price that's for sure. $25 is about the going rate AFAIK and I'm sure the Sheriff will correct me if I'm wrong.

Nice! Have a great time and tell us all about your smoking experiences.

Wow, sounds like you are in for a fantastic vacation. Enjoy it, and definately smoke some great sticks while you are there (looks like you are well on your way already  ).

I ate at several of those jerk centers, and by far, my fav. was the Ochos Rios Jerk center. We called a cab, and told the cab driver to take us where he eats jerk, and we would buy his lunch. Well, we went, and their were no other tourists there (that i could tell), and he ordered our food for us after we told him what we wanted....it was fantastic. i've been trying to make that sauce ever since we got back...come close, but not exact.
just seems i cant get my scotch bonnet and my red pepper flakes in the right combination, along with various other stuff.

The jerk is great. The family of a guy that worked at our hotel grew tobacco (I believe the wacky variety of tabaccy) up in the mountains in the middle of the island, so he took us there a couple days and showed us some real island life, including a few jerks stands in towns along the way. Its been my favorite good cheap eats outside of Thailand.
