Hello all,

I will be on a plane monday morning with the wife and kids, heading back up north to see family. We will be spending two weeks between Milford Ct and Narraganansett RI, probably back and forth about seventeen times. Anyway, I am looking for some good cigar shops to stop by while I am up there.

I would love to track down some Opus #2s and some more Anejo 46 if possible.

Thank you gents.

Mike

Wow. I used to live in West Haven, CT and Coventry, RI and traveled between often and you've picked a pretty dead cigar zone to vacation in. There are a few shops in New Haven but it's been a long time since I've dropped in on one. In RI, you'd need to get as far up as East Greenwich (forget the name), Cranston (The Humidor), and Providence (Red Carpet) to find a good shop. I'm sure the current local boys will chime in.

Regency Cigars in East Greenwich.
Great selection and they usually have a few Anejos and Opus.
A fantastic Tatuaje selection too!

Regency! That was the shop. Nice to hear they're still in business.

Outstanding ! I will take a ride and give it a look, there is a kick ass Italian deli and pastry shop right along the way in Norwalk. How are the prices? Grenwich is a very yuppie town, I imagine they are stiff.

Thanks for the info guys. Providence may be an option as well.

Mike

Their prices aren't too far off from MSRP.
A week ago they had Opus Double Robustos and As, Anejo 48s, 49s and 50s.
Maybe one other Opus size as well.
I blew some cash there!

edit to add:
I think they had 46s too.
Didn't take to much notice as there is a plethora of em in my humi these days.
Also I will be at the Mohegan Sun casino on the 10th if you want to get out for a smoke.

JimD's shop in Hartford, CT, The Tobacco Shop, 55 Asylum Street. One of only two Davidoff White Glove shops in the state. He also has Fuentes....

Watch out for Rastacat (Todd) who works there. :D Next thing you know, you'll be dropping a few Benjamins on cigars but it will be WELL worth it!

Excellent info guys.

DOH!, East Grenwich RI? heh I was thinking Grenwich CT. I will have to stop by there, my wife will love to take a ride around her old home state.

Hartford is definitely doable as well, I will have to break away with my brother for some stogie hunting.

Thanks again guys.

Mike

Hey Mike, either post here or shoot me a PM if and when you plan on stopping in Hartford and I'll try and meet up with ya.

If you get near Enfield, CT try Battlefield Cigar. Great atmosphere and good selection.

Thanks for the info guys,

Made it to regency today and am about to burn a Padron AnniM #6. Great little shop, scored a few Opus X #4 as well as a sweet Lotus lighter.

I am loving the new flame, looks and feels like Buck Roger's Zippo  .

Thanks again guys,

Mike

Will do guys.

I was planning on getting down there from RI either the 10th or 12th , but right now we are talking maby a ride to Bean town. So right now I an torn.

I would love to get down there and have a smoke, maby hunt some 46s :whistling: .

Now its going to be GOOD seafood and some grog.

Thanks again, will update soon.

Mike

Damn Tom, I was just about to do some self-promotion and ya beat me to it!

Also, Worcester St New Haven has some of the finest pizza I've ever had, both Pepe's and Sal's claim to have 'invented the pizza' which of course has to be B.S., they do have astounding brick oven thin crust pizza tho. Also, there's an amazing Italian pastry shop just down the street. Get there around 4, and be ready to wait. Also be ready to say 'the wait was worth it'

I would try very hard to make it up to Jim's shop in Hartford. :)

Ever been to Geppi's on Grand? My old favorite.

The pizza is good in NH.

Yep....Regency will be the closest to Narragansett and one of the best shops , also the Humidor has a shop in East Greenwich, about 2 miles from Regency.
