Habanos S.A. Announces "Modest" Price Increase for 2026

My guess is it's going to take the Chinese economy tanking, and then we'll see them begging us to come back.

Although, China did that with the wine market in the late 80s and 90s. The supply recovered, but the pricees never really went back down

It's getting to the point, like craft beer was, in years past. There were only a few great breweries, but now they're popping up everywhere. I still love the Barrel Aged breweries, but local ones are starting to compete.

It seems, like @BlindedByScience Tom said, that we're having more and more factories/brands step up and make great cigars.

Quite a few breweries are starting to go out of business, or are having a scale back due to their sales slowing down. I've seen a few my way shut their doors, along with a brewery in Pennsylvania called Logyard that Jeff @CigarStone I really liked. Seems a lot of people don't drink like they used to, or prefer just a pop gummy these days. Wouldn't be surprised if market over-saturation has anything to do with that.
I'm like Craig! As much as I try to like non-Cuban cigars, they just don't hit the same for me. The majority of them just don't have any complexity, and just are too in your face. There are a few I still like, but not very many.

As John mentioned, edibles have caused a huge reduction in beer sales nationwide. The owner of Logyard and I were having a beer one day at his tap room and he told me he was shutting down the business. He told me that beer sales nationwide had gone down something like 32% in 2023 and when he saw the look of bewilderment on my face he simply said "all of us who used to drink ten beers a day now eat a gummy and drink three".

As far as new world cigars, I'm like John, I just don't find them appealing. The ratio of power, strength, and harshness, to flavor is not enjoyable. I still enjoy the spice of an Anejo occasionally but after halfway through it gets tossed.

But ...................... like the rest of us, I am going to have to learn to enjoy new world cigars so if anyone has any recommendations I am all ears. I have not bought anything new world in years and am not up with what's out there. I do enjoy Fabrica5 and some of Jonhhy O's stuff.

Well Jeff, JO! are Cuban Puros and I like many of them as well. I have smoked a few Fab5 now and some are pretty good. I do like the Ninfas. The robusto and lancero are also decent. Still I’d take a JO!, other Cuban farmie or custom roll or even MM over any NC. My band is Craig and I’m a Habanoholic.
