🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of CigarPass! 🎉

This is a major milestone for our community, and one I couldn’t be prouder to share with all of you.

Twenty-five years ago I had a simple idea… to create a self-moderated cigar community built on trust, camaraderie, and of course, trading cigars. With the help of the fogs and members alike, CigarPass stands as one of the last remaining forums of its kind, outlasting nearly every other cigar community out there.

Through the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of the nicest, most interesting people from all walks of life, many I now call friends. This community has always been about more than just cigars; it’s about the connections we’ve made along the way.

Some of you may remember back in 2008, we received offers from companies looking to buy CigarPass. While some were tempting, selling was never an option, this has always been a passion project. And to this day, despite the occasional buyout request, my answer remains the same: CigarPass is not for sale. All of the cigar communities that were acquired back in 2008 were stripped of their individuality and rebranded into a single site, which today is a ghost town. We made the right choice...

Now that we’ve established the best cigar community around, it’s time for the next chapter… I’ve been working on something that I think many of you will enjoy, and what better time to introduce it than on our 25th birthday!

🎶 Introducing… CigarPass Music! 🎶

This is only the beginning. Over time, I’ll be releasing original CP-themed songs—some fun, some nostalgic, all celebrating what makes this community special. I’ve already created several songs and will be releasing them shortly over the coming weeks.

But this isn’t just about music. My biggest goal? Telling the story of CigarPass through music. Think of it as our very own soundtrack, a way to preserve our history, inside jokes, funny threads (new and old), and legendary moments in a whole new way.

To make it easy to enjoy (and discuss), I’ll be launching a dedicated CigarPass music page on our homepage, and also a dedicated forum section to listen to and discuss the songs. You can even put in requests. 😊I also see song contests coming as well…

With that, I want to thank each and every one of you for being part of this special community that we call home. A community where lifelong friendships are forged, all in the name of a cigar, and I truly mean it’s an honor to be part of something so great.

Now grab a cigar and enjoy the official Happy Birthday CigarPass song!

Sincerely,
Rod

25 years is long time manage anything, especially this merry band of brothers.

Thank you for having the perseverance to keep this thing facing mostly forward

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
and CONGRATULATIONS

This is awesome!!! Thank you so much for providing this place Rod! Can't wait to be a part of the next 25 years

Thank you, Rod, for creating and maintaining this place. The SPAM attack the other day let me know it takes some work, it does not run itself.

I've learned more about cigars here in two months than I did over the last 40 years. And met some great people. This place is really unique and wonderful. It's one of only two I check daily.

Happy birthday CigarPass, and thank you Rod for keeping it here for us!

If he could see it now I'm sure Todd would be proud of how you've kept his dream alive.

@MX No, I'm cheating on them! lol I've been on an old-fashioned wet shaving forum for about 15 years. Almost 6,000 posts.

I talk too much wherever I am! 😅 But this place is great, so glad Rod is happy to keep running it!

Badger and Blade?

Im not over there but Ive been a wet shaver for close to 18 years and some times lurk. Ive converted my wife, my brother, my friend, and both kids (<19 yo) partake now if you can believe it. I have about 15 years of my go to blade in reserve for the shavepocalypse. Which is important since they moved Astra manufacturing from Russia to India with all the troubles.

Game changer 76 is my go to weapon but I have an array including my old mans 59 Fatboy which I break out on Fatboy Friday from time to time.

Yep. Badger and blade. Same handle and avatar.

Try the Dorco Prime blades from Viet Nam. Best current blade production, IMO

Great work Todd, CP has outlived every other cigar forum of the era and crossed multiple generations. That is pretty wild to think about. And my cigarpass herf shirt sort of fits still, that is also pretty wild to think about.

Gonna have to make a note of that, Astra was my go to as well. Of course, since I have a beard now and only use the razor once every few days to clean up my neck, the blades last almost forever.
