John and I talked briefly about Jeff while we were in DC having a smoke, and he hadn't heard from him either since the benefit finished back in September of 09'. Jeff's last post was on August 29, 2009 in the Gas Pass thread. Does anyone have his number, or email, or had any contact with him? He is a good dude, and I'm just curious if he's still doing okay.
 
I'd also like to know how he's doing, Don. As long as it's not something private, can you post it here?
 
If anyone talks to him, please give me a PM update. I've sent the big lug a couple of PMs but it's been awhile now. Hope he's doing well. I hope everyone who has won a contest recently seriously considers sending him something out of courtesy for him not being in the contest. The guy was professional grade contest winner.

I know John has spoken to him, and I plan on calling him tomorrow after work. I'll try to get an updated address for the guy for those who are interested in this.
 
Talked to Jeff last night after Don helped me find his misplaced contact info.


Without going into too much detail...........

Jeff is doing really well health wise. He got a second and third opinion and it turned out that his situation was not as dire as originally thought. Problem was that as some of you know, he did not have health insurance due to bad timing with the economy.

It cost him everything he had, and he sounds like he took it pretty hard. He's on his way back up, but he's still got a long way to go personally and financially.

Knowing that we all are concerned and miss him really meant a lot to him. He was blown away by the fact that Jonathan and I were just discussing him and wondered how he was. Don't think he realized the community would still feel the way we do.

Told him to get his ass over here and that it's not about the contest, GB's, or passes that he host that makes him wanted or liked. :)

Thanks for the update, John! It's good to hear his health is better. Hopefully everything else will get better soon! :thumbs:
 
Thanks for the update John. I'm glad to hear Jef'fs health is better and hopefully the financial part will fall into place for him.
 
Great to hear. Jeff is a class act for sure. Thanks for posting an update. Funny because I was just going through some old shipping boxes in my basement and his name and address was on one. Made me think of him and wonder how he was.

Hope he logs in to say hello sometime.

Good news. Glad things might be on the upswing.
We as a community are here for him. True it's not about all the stuff. It's about us, standing together as a community of Brothers/Sisters.
Let him know we are here for him as he would be for us.

Nice gesture, but I think Jeff is on the upswing and ready to stand on his own. A bomb or two, etc. might be more appropriate. :)

Even though just a drop in the bucket, the almost 6k we raised last year went a long way helping toward his medical bills.
