Having issues with Salt Test. Guidance Needed!

I'd say call Dave at Cheap Humidors...but I know where that conversation would go. Disregard my suggestions above.

Also, the hygrometer came with a plastic ring around it covering four holes every quarter turn. I am supposed to leave that on right? I assumed it was to fit snugly in the front of my humidor. Also, there is a sticker on the back which I am assuming is for lid placing, that can be left on as well right?

Thanks for all of your help!

I have one of these humidors with the front mounted hygrometer. To make it more accurate I removed it from the hole and marked the plastic ring with a "sharpie" where the breathing holes are then slide the plastic ring off. Get a good size nail approx the same size as the holes is the hygrometer, also grab a pair of vice grips and clamp it on the nail, then heat the nail up on the stove or using a torch then just melt a hole through the plastic ring where the sharpie marks are. Slide the plastic ring back on and line of the holes, now you have a snug fitting hygrometer with a little better air flow. Worked for me.

Thanks a lot for that info. That is what I thought about doing. Now I will actually have the guts to give it a shot. Should be pretty easy.
