Well now I am trying to find a wall mount unit... any suggestions..
Depending on what kind of bracket you need/want, have you looked at any of the cantilever brackets? There are options for you which can extend the flat panel outward, tilt and move left and right. Omnimount makes a nice bracket and you may want to do a search on a company called Cheif mfg, they have some cool recessed brackets which give you a flush mount look.

C&R

We use Chief Mounts for the 4 plasmas/lcd's we have at work.

Great stuff!!

ive had hd for almost 4 years now. When I first got it there was not much programing and networks would show alot of "fluff." I would watch some really, really, really dumb shit just because it was in hd, like a field of flowers blowing around in the wind, mens cliff diving or one program that showed shots of buildings, houses or whatever and their surroundings. I bet I watched that crap 50 times. I'm an hd whore now. About the only thing I will watch that isnt hd is a sporting event.

Well I ordered the mount and should be here Sat... The wife says I have to get it mounted before I start on my smoking room...

Well, my HDTV story is a little strange and a little long, but I will try not to digress. So I bought a Mitsubishi first gen 70" HDTV awhile ago, this is the TV with the 5 BNC outs. Well for the longest time I just used the S-Video connection, but then about a year ago I decided I deserve HDTV, I mean I have this monster of a TV with no HD. So I did some research, there really is no reciever that accepts a straight through connection of the 5 BNC connectors, so I had to rig it. After reading various forums the best solution lied within a VGA to component transcoder, which happened to cost 300 bucks small price to pay you say :) So I bought a 5 BNC cable to VGA and the transcoder which happened to come with component cable. So after many weeks of research / trial and error (I bought a 5 BNC to DVI connector that didn't work) I have HDTV. A couple of pet peeves I have are, since HDTV is 16:9 and my tv is 4:3 I have black strips on the top and bottoms, second, CBS NFL football doesn't come in HDTV, which I guess means I have a problem with CBS and not really HDTV. ;) All in all it was a long road, but the 1 Gen HDTV is rocking.

The wife did say she would like a flat screen... but I told her until they make 80" flats, we aren't changing :)

Panasonic had a 103 inch plasma, it is out or just around the corner

I am still waiting for the HD Porn Channel :whistling:

HD Rocks even with my smallish 37in HD LCD

The HD discovery channel might just become my favorite...

ditto that.

I've loved Discovery since it went on the air, mating habits of the spotted marsh frog and all. I had Discovery HD on the other day while I was playing video games on my computer. It was on one of those static live wallpaper scenery things with a bunch of ducks sitting in a marsh. My son came up and watched for several minutes before he asked when the alligators were going to munch those ducks.

I just noticed the other night that Comcast is now offering free On-Demand movies in HD, I've seen "The Terminator" and "As Good as It Gets" so far.

I love my 55" Sony LCD but "THIS" one is looking promising from the specs I am reading.

Well the mount finally arrived today and included everything but the bolts for the TV. It is a new model so they hadn't put those in yet. Nothing a quick trip to ACE hardware won't fix. It looks to be a heavy duty piece of hardware and will hopefully get it installed Thursday.

Mount

I looked at all the options and this seemed the way to go. It has two cut outs for electrical boxes which will make it easy to run wires. I ordered these for the HDMI cords and they will fit nicely behind the mount. I didn't pay that much for them though.

HDMI port

I will try to get some pictures up after I get it all together.

Well got the mount up and the TV hung on the wall. Not to hard of a job could have used an extra set of hands. Next up is to re-wire all the speakers since I decided to change the location of the TV. Loads of fun working with 12 gauge wire, one wire is about as thick as you pinky finger. Another day of crawling through the attice breathing insulation. Once that is done there should be no wires any where.

Since some of you guys are hooking up you new equipment, and I'm reconnecting some of mine, check out RAM Electronics for some good deals and exlanations of connections. I picked up a new DVI-HDMI cable for my HTPC connection to my HDTV.

   to parts express. i have several purchases of cables and the like from them. they also have wall plates, fast shipping and some of the lowest prices i have ever seen on cables. i grabbed my 6' hdmi cable from around 20 bucks, a similar cable at circuit city was $99.00 (ya, i shit you not),a 25' sub woofer cable was $9.00 and my optical cables for my surround sound were under $10 each.
and don't waste your $$$ with monster cable!

Yeah, the panasonic is very nice. I've been looking at it for almost a year now and still haven't pulled the trigger. Second in line-to me-is the pioneer. Both have incredible pictures.
