I feel like a fool. I've been meaning to try this cigar for ages (months in the life of Noob). If I'd only known. Talk about a flavor bomb, I don't think a 45 minute NC can get better than this. My eyes have been opened to Fuente products of late, which I stayed away from after smoking a couple of the 'green label' line. This is my fav to date, aside from the Opus of course.

Plenty more to try.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, and a 'relaxing' Memorial Day to each of you.

Mick

Yep, what a smoke it is. I love the peppery taste. I haven't found that profile in any other cigar...including the Best Seller. A great cigar.

try out the chateau cuban belicoso, the sun growns are their best IMO.

Smoked my first sun grown belicoso yesterday and it was fantastic. I don't know how others classify that one, but I would call it full bodied. Didn't kick my ass, but I could tell it was trying. Great smoke, and the box price isn't half bad.

What good timing with this topic: I just smoked a SS (my second ever) earlier this afternoon, and it was quite tasty. A nice cammy twang with some pepper and spice. I hope the signatures I have resting in my humi are as good when I break into them.

Regarding the sungrowns, I have only had one, a chateau, and have several more resting next to those sigs. It was a very nice smoke, but it needs a bit of time to settle down, IMO. I will have to try another in a couple months. I agree about the value of the SGs though, box prices are quite reasonable.

Fuente cigars are properly aged before you get them. Anything else is obsessive compulsive BS.

Doc.

I love these Cigars.
I purchased a box a couple of months ago and they are nearly all gone...Not quite sure what I am going to do when they run out.

Oh Great! Thanks TS, another cigar I gotta try because someone made it sound so good. Guess I need to figure out where to find one to try now.

I hope one of you guys will let me come live with you when the wife kicks me out of the house.
The Humis come with me. ;)

That sounds like it fits me just about right.

Besides, while I thought it was a fine, properly aged smoke directly off the shelf, I believe that it will be a very good smoke if I let it sit a few months in my humi. Whether that's because it ages a bit more or because it stabilizes at the 62-64% RH my humi is at (as opposed to the sopping wetness of the AF portion of my B&M's humi), who knows.

I love Short Stories. I smoke 'em in the car when I've got about 30-45 min. to kill in between visiting accounts (I'm on the road all day). Never had a bad one.

Just bought my first Hemingway yesterday (signature)... I think I'll smoke it tonight while I BBQ :) Been smoking 8-5-8's as of late. I'll let everyone know what I think soon.

Damn Mick! Now I gotta go get a Hemi, I had made up my mind to have a Padron!

You can't go wrong with the Hemi's

OCD is what makes us all addicted to this site, Doc. But if you think that OCD with Fuente products makes us nuts...go talk shit to Moki!!!! He gave me a 9 year old Opus... Obsessive? Yup... Way better cigar with age? Yup!!! Most Fuente cigars age well...and get better with!

As far as the Short Story...they're so fuckin' good with age. Just smoked one that has been sitting for 3 years this weekend. OMG...that made me go out and buy a few more to throw in long term... Age is good!!! Age is good...

Yeah, but that doesn't mean they don't taste better with age, particularly the Cuban Belicosos. ;)
